Hoy ha sido un día algo frustrante, más para los demás que para mí propiamente hablando. En horas de la madrugada, cuando sin mucho sueño disfrutaba de visitar algunas interesantes publicaciones en nuestra blockchain, de pronto, el servicio de internet se vio interrumpido. Dispongo del servicio de internet a través de una línea Cantv, la empresa estatal de telecomunicaciones y la principal proveedora de este servicio en el país. Realmente, esta empresa tiene el monopolio y la exclusividad del ofrecer este servicio en Venezuela y los demás ISP que funcionan en el país, obtienen la conexión a través de esta empresa.

Ya es costumbre que cuando el servicio de internet se interrumpe en horas de la madrugada, es porque se está vandalizando y/o robando el cableado de fibra óptica o en algún sitio donde se centraliza el servicio, como el robo de equipos y antenas. Y si lees bien, escribi "ya es costumbre". Realmente esto es decepcionante en mi país. Y es una muestra de como funciona y en que nivel de decadencia estamos, no solo en este aspecto, sino en todos los ámbitos de los servicios públicos. Puede que en otros países ocurra lo mismo o quizás no es así. Pero de algo estoy seguro, esto no es normal. Como de costumbre, el gobierno da su invariable fórmula del ataque terrorista. Como de costumbre, pasamos varias horas, en algunos casos días sin los servicios que se han interrumpido. Y como de costumbre, se soluciona la situación, se dan las mismas vagas explicaciones y continuamos nuestras vidas hasta el próximo evento, que como de costumbre, sabemos que ocurrirá en cualquier momento.

Today has been a somewhat frustrating day, more for others than for me per se. In the wee hours of the morning, when without much sleep I was enjoying visiting some interesting posts on our blockchain, suddenly, the internet service was interrupted. I have internet service through a line Cantv, the state-owned telecommunications company and the main provider of this service in the country. Actually, this company has the monopoly and the exclusivity to offer this service in Venezuela and the other ISP that operate in the country, get the connection through this company...

It is already customary that when the internet service is interrupted in the early morning hours, it is because the fiber optic cabling is being vandalized and/or stolen or somewhere where the service is centralized, such as theft of equipment and antennas. And if you read that right, writes "it is already customary". This is really disappointing in my country. And it is a sample of how it works and what level of decadence we are, not only in this aspect but in all areas of public services. Maybe in other countries, the same thing is happening or maybe it is not. But of one thing I am sure, this is not normal. As usual, the government gives its invariable formula of the terrorist attack. As usual, we spend several hours, in some cases days without the services that have been interrupted. And as usual, the situation is remedied, the same vague explanations are given and we go on with our lives until the next event, which as usual, we know will happen at any moment.

Y así transcurre los días en mi país, donde la costumbre se ha enquistado hasta la saciedad. Donde se vive cada día, para la mayoría, con el afán de terminar y que llegue el siguiente para seguir en la lucha diaria. Salir a las calles de mi país es un ejercicio que puede tornarse deprimente. Es una cotidianidad que diera la impresión, se ha quedado detenida en el tiempo. Es como aquella película donde actúan Adam Sandler y Drew Barrymore, donde para ella cada día es igual al anterior. Al dormir, se borra todo lo vivido ese día y comienza de nuevo el mismo día al despertar. No se vislumbra el futuro. Particularmente para mí, no veo un futuro brillante o distinto en mi país, más que repetir lo que se vivió ayer. Algún que otro evento que lo hace diferente, pero que en su conjunto, es como un ciclo constante donde lo cotidiano es solo eso, esperar a ver que va a suceder. Doy gracias que, como ya es costumbre, el nuevo "corte de fibra óptica que afecto a..." en este caso y valga la redundancia, como de costumbre, a la zona oriental del país, ya se solucionó y estoy escribiendo esta pequeña catarsis, gracias a esta interesante comunidad y en esta fabulosa blockchain. And that is how the days go by in my country, where the custom has become entrenched to the point of satiety. Where each day is lived, for the majority, with the eagerness to finish and for the next one to arrive in order to continue the daily struggle. Going out into the streets of my country is an exercise that can become depressing. It is an everyday life that seems to have stopped in time. It's like that movie starring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, where for her every day is the same as the previous one. When she goes to sleep, everything she has lived that day is erased and when she wakes up, she starts over again the same day. There is no glimpse of the future. Particularly for me, I do not see a bright or different future in my country, other than repeating what was experienced yesterday. The occasional event that makes it different, but as a whole, it is like a constant cycle where everyday life is just that, waiting to see what will happen. I am thankful that, as usual, the new "fiber optic outage that affected..." in this case and as usual, the eastern part of the country, has been solved and I am writing this little catharsis, thanks to this interesting community and in this fabulous blockchain.
