Nowadays we have nailed the image of a horror movie where there must be screamers, sudden scares and anything paranormal to be scary, this became very popular little by little, it was not that it suddenly exploded, but there are certain films that did make the cut in the genre and made terror in the cinema more elevated. I have memories with The Exorcist, I do not remember if it was really called that, but it was one that caused nightmares in many people, broke any stereotype we had at that time of how a movie should be scary, and the issue of spiritual and all that, that added to the news that paranormal things had happened in the shooting, apart from the death of several people in the team, who knows if this is true, but it caused a stir.
En la actualidad tenemos clavada la imagen de una película de terror donde tienen que haber screamers, sustos repentinos y cualquier cosa paranormal para dar miedo, esto se popularizó mucho de poco a poco, no fue que de repente explotó, pero hay ciertas cintas que sí que dieron la talla en el género y hicieron elevar más el terror en el cine. Tengo recuerdos con El Exorcista, que no recuerdo si de verdad se llamaba así, pero fue una que causo pesadillas en muchas personas, rompió con cualquier estereotipo que teníamos en aquel entonces de como debía ser una película para dar miedo, y el asunto de lo espiritual y todo eso, eso sumado a las noticias de que en el rodaje habían ocurrido cosas paranormales, aparte de la muerte de varias personas en el equipo, a saber si esto es verdad, pero causo revuelo.
Alien The Eighth Passenger is a much older movie than the ones we know of horror nowadays, it was released in 79, a lot of years ago, but it was not only a science fiction movie with touches of suspense, but also of horror, or at least I can catalog it like that, it is not that it will make you pee in your sleep, but it uses very well the shots and the music in the moments that are indicated. It was directed by Ridley Scott, in fact I think it is only the first one he directed, excuse me if I do not remember, but I saw it a long time ago, and I remember reading something about that most of them were not directed by him, besides that for the vast majority, including me, he considers this and its sequel the best of the franchise but by far.
Alien El Octavo Pasajero es una película mucho más vieja que las que conocemos de terror actualmente, se estrenó en el 79, hace una salvajada de años, pero no solo era una película de ciencia ficción y con toques de suspenso, sino también de terror, o al menos yo si la puedo catalogar así, no es que te vaya a hacer orinar cuando duermas, pero utiliza muy bien los planos y la música en los momentos que son indicados. Fue dirigida por Ridley Scott, de hecho creo que es solo la primera la que dirigió, discúlpenme si no lo recuerdo, pero es que la ví hace mucho tiempo, y recuerdo haber leído algo sobre que la gran mayoría no las dirigió él, aparte de que para la gran mayoría, icnluyéndome considera esta y su secuela las mejores de la franquicia pero de lejos.

They can not ask for help, so they have to wait what happens, what happens is that the ship arrives at the moon of a totally unexplored planet, so they decide to land on this and investigate. When they arrive they explore the area without getting anything interesting, beyond some eggs to know what, in one of those eggs a strange species shoots out and attacks one of the crew, they decide to escape to the ship, but what they did not realize is that something was injected inside him. The scene of the larva of the Xenomorph is already classic cinema, it is already well known, I think because of the gore that was at the time, it was even repellent to see that, it is very good to displease the viewer, the thing is that the larva comes out of the body of this crew member and hides, but what they do not know is the speed of growth of the creature, it is a savagery. In Latin America this movie was called Alien The Eighth Passenger, there are 7 crew members, so the Alien is basically the eighth, there is the fact, because originally it was only called Alien.
Aquí nos transportan al Nostromo, una nave comercial que se encuentra regresando a la tierra, nuestros 7 personajes principales se encuentran en una especie de letargo, pero el sistema de la nave los despierta cuando reciben una transmisión de origen desconocido, piensan que es que se están acercando a la tierra, pero en realidad se dan cuenta de que se encuentran en una zona fuera del sistema solar. No pueden pedir ayuda, así que les toca esperar qué sucede, lo que pasa es que la nave llega a la luna de un planeta totalmente inexplorado, así que deciden aterrizar en esta e investigar. Cuando llegan exploran la zona sin conseguir nada interesante, más allá de unos huevos a saber de qué, en uno de esos huevos sale disparada una especie extraña y ataca a a uno de los tripulantes, deciden escapar a la nave, pero de lo que no se dieron cuenta es que algo se inyectó dentro de él. La escena de la larba del Xenomorfo es clásica ya del cine, es muy conocida ya, yo creo que por lo gore que fue en su momento, daba hasta repelus ver eso, es muy buena para desagradar al espectador, el asunto es que la larba sale del cuerpo de este tripulante y se esconde, pero lo que no saben es de la velocidad de crecimiento de la criatura, es una salvajada. En Latino América esta película se llamo Alien El Octavo Pasajero, son 7 tripulantes, así que el Alien es basicamente el octavo, ahí está el dato, porque originalmente solo se llama Alien.

For the time in which it came out it has some first class visual tricks, it doesn't look like a movie so old, remember it's from 1979, more than 40 years old, and it resists very well the time still, especially if you see the remastered versions that people make, improving the quality and making it look more modern and leaving many of the early 2000's ridiculous, it's great in this sense.
Para la época en la que salió tiene unos trucos visuales de primera, no parecen de una película tan antigua, recordemos que es de 1979, más de 40 años tiene esta cinta, y resiste muy bien el tiempo todavía, sobre todo si ves las versiones remasterizadas que hace la gente, mejorando la calidad y haciendo que se vea más moderna y dejando en ridículo a muchas de a principio de los 2000, es estupenda en este sentido.

The Xenomorph is one of the classic enemies and monsters of cinema, anyone regardless of the era in which he was born is very likely to know its image and its form, this film not only served as inspiration for movies, there are video games and comics that are inspired by this tape, such as Metroid, Dead Space or Halo, are a few examples, but there are many more if you want to know. It is also one of those first ones where they showed us a strong woman as Ripley is, before they did not give so much importance to female characters, but I like that here she is the protagonist, without many rolls or anything, she is a great character and plays the role well.
El Xenomorfo es uno de los enemigos y monstruos clásicos del cine, cualquier persona independientemente de la época en la que nació es muy probable que conozca su imagen y su forma, esta película no solo sirvió de inspiración para películas, hay videojuegos y cómics que se inspiran de esta cinta, como Metroid, Dead Space o Halo, son unos pocos ejemplos, pero hay muchos más por si quieren saber. También es de esas primeras donde nos mostraron una mujer fuerte como lo es Ripley, antes no le daban tanta importancia a los personajes femeninos, pero me agrada que aquí directamente sea la protagonista, sin muchos rollos ni nada, es un gran personaje y hace bien el papel.

The lore of Alien is one of the ones I like the most, especially at the illustrative level, I really like the ship designs and the classic style they already have, apart from the design of the Xenomorph, which is one of the most memorable in the cinema. I have no idea if there is anyone who hasn't seen it, I'm not a critic or anything, and I'm young in fact, so it's yet another reason to applaud Ridley Scott and his team for this movie, for having endured over 4 decades with the same popularity and inspiring in many other media.
El lore de Alien es de los que más me gustan, sobre todo a nivel ilustrativo, me gusta mucho por los diseños de la nave y el estilo clásico que ya tienen, aparte del diseño del Xenomorfo, que es de lo más memorable en el cine. No tengo ni la más remota idea de si hay alguien que no la haya visto, no soy crítico ni nada, y soy joven de hecho, por eso es otro motivo más para aplaudir a Ridley Scott y su equipo por esta película, por haber aguantado más de 4 décadas con la misma popularidad e inspirando en muchos medios de otra índole.

Alien y Aliens son dos de mis películas favoritas, Scott ha estado involucrado en las historias que sirven de precuelas aunque todavía falta de contar la que conecta a esas dos películas justamente con esta que fue estrenada ya hace 42 años.
Sabes que Alien y Halloween potenciaron la imagen de la Final Girl y es por eso que Alien la considero en parte a un slasher de ciencia ficción, para decirlo mejor es un film de terror/ciencia ficción y a pesar de los muchos cambios para contar una misma historia, tiene fascinación el verlas.
Si quieres ver algo parecido en dónde se relaciona,terror, acción, ciencia ficción y Scott,debes ver la serie Raised By Wolves.
Sí, acabo de buscar sobre la serie, voy a ver si la veo, se ve interesante, y más que está Ridley Scott de por medio, creo que nos podemos esperar algo grande. También hay un juego que se llama Alien Isolation, luego hablaré de él, pero este está entre la primera y la segunda película, enriquece bastante la historia y el lore de Alien en ese sentido, y me dirás loco pero no he visto Halloween, claro que lo conozco, obvio, pero nunca se me ha pasado por la cabeza verlo, y bueno gracias por la aportación y por el comentario.

STOPI actually watched the sequel without even knowing there was an original film. I was too young to know these things at the time. When I finally went back to watch the original, i was not disappointed. It is truly amazing that they were able to make this look so realistic given the limited budget and time period that it was made in.
