National team football is rolling again, but it has far from been a national team break that we are used to. The Premier League clubs announced that they would not release a number of players for various national teams as they would have to go into corona quarantine when they return to England.

As many as nine Brazilians from the Premier League had been selected for the Brazilian national team, but ended up not leaving, and this could now have consequences, according to the British BBC. FIFA has the opportunity to give a quarantine of five days to players who were not released when the national team break is over. That will mean they can not get into the fight this weekend.

However, FIFA has not yet made a decision, which has led the European Club Association, ECA, to demand feedback on whether or not they can play within the next 24 hours. The BBC also writes that Wolves, Newcastle, Watford and Blackburn will all be missing players this weekend following complaints from football associations in Chile, Mexico and Paraguay.

The nine Brazilians in question are Alisson, Fabinho and Roberto Firmino from Liverpool, Ederson and Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City, Thiago Silva from Chelsea, Fred from Manchester United, Raphinha from Leeds and Richarlison from Everton.
