Back to school challenge
Most schools here in Nigeria resumed to school in September 4th for 2023/2024 Academic Session most especially Lagos State, Nigeria.
It was so funny how fast the resumption date approached. A week before the resumption, my husband and I went to our children's school to get their textbooks and other stationeries. The amount spent for two children over textbooks alone was #94,650.00. Why? Nigeria economy is very bad and everything in the market is highly costly, the prices are doubled compared to last session.
What about the need to change their school bags, lunch bags, lunch plates and school uniforms? We started praying to God to be our help because things are not rosy in Nigeria as we speak.
Both of us, (the parents) happens to be a teacher earning a stipend as our salary is too small compared to what's in the market. The expenses was just too much on but we had to go extra miles to make our children happy and that's the joy of every parents to see their little ones happy. They are so excited to see the new things we got for them.
On the day of resumption,my two lovelies did not sleep throughout the night, they were so anxious to go to school, they woke us up around 3.am that mum and Dad wakeup, it's time to get us ready for school. Oh! Jesus, these kids, why? We want to go to school that was their answer as to why they didn't sleep.
They so happy to see their school bus driver, their school mates and they shouted HAPPY RESUMPTION to everyone in the bus.
Ever since then, it has not been easy easy to get them ready for school with what they will take to school as lunch. I had to make a food timetable that sometimes didn't work because food is expensive here in Nigeria. To balance their daily diets makes me worry everytime but what do I do? We have to manage whatever we see, that's the situation of my dear country, Nigeria.
We are 4 weeks gone now and everyday the children are happy going to school and doing their homeworks.
Getting to wakeup early and sleeping late to prepare them for school for five days is not easy but that's the joy of being a parent.
My children enjoy going to school.
Thank you for reading always.
What a beautiful sight, them being happy going to school. I'm glad you managed to buy all of their school supplies and I hope you can keep them well-fed. I understand, it's very costly to feed them where I come from too.
I am trying so hard to keep up with them. I believe God is in involve
in my country the school year is also starting and parents are stressed out looking for school supplies, uniforms, etc.
You can say that again. The stress of getting new things is the main work and paying of school fees

Everyone makes an important decision after graduating from school. I decided to become a lawyer and went to university. Sometimes it can be difficult to complete some tasks. But when I learned about sop service it became much easier for me to complete the tasks that the teacher gives us. My grades improved and I even improved my writing skills.
That's great
