In my time as a teacher, I must admit that I used a very passive type of teaching where I would talk, send a piece of information and that's it: you pass or fail.
Modern times have taught me that I can use several tools to be able to teach and get the participants involved in the process in a more active way.
The pendrive comes to be a super useful object to save the information of slides, videos, images, as well as exams, support material, other research materials, EVERYTHING! In a small space and in a fast way.
It turns out that now the teaching processes in this technological era, it is not enough with the blackboard and chalk or marker; now participants are looking for images, social networks, inspiring videos and we as teachers must adapt to these new times to use modernity to our advantage.
Here I will spend a little grief because I looking for the economy, some time ago I used was a device (I never knew how it was called) that had a phone memory and served me as a pendrive; it turns out that in many computers was not recognized, I had saved things that I thought I had deleted and appeared out of nowhere, I confused personal information with professional so I was afraid that this information would end up in unwanted hands, and in the end, I did not last six months because it was damaged so badly that I lost everything without the opportunity to rescue.
Since we had a pandemic and I worked from home, I didn't bother to buy another “memory collector”, but this year, not for convenience but for necessity I had to buy the pendrive. One of the most negative anecdotes is that I sent the presentation by mail and it did not arrive or the pc had to have another program to open it, so I lost a lot of time or worse, I had to use a plan B because the presentation never opened, ALL A CHAOS!
In my institution, a colleague sells them and gives them on credit so I did not hesitate to ask him; also, he has options between economic and expensive but when he explained to me the importance of having a good equipment, I went for this one that cost $10. At the beginning I would have said no because with 10 I would buy another memory 🤣 but knowing the need I have and it is another tool that will improve my work, I bought it and paid for it 😊.

Mis estimados #Hivetech les saludo esperando que todo marche bien en sus vidas y puedan disfrutar de esta reseña, opinión, y estilo de vida que les traigo a continuación. ¿Por qué un estilo de vida? ¿Y qué tiene que ver eso con un pen drive? Bueno porque aunque muy pocos puedan creerlo, a estas alturas de la vida sigo siendo una mujer de la antigüedad y aún usa el Hotmail ja,ja,ja... En mi etapa de docente, debo reconocer que usaba un tipo de enseñanza muy pasiva donde hablaba, enviaba una información y listo: apruebas o no.
Los tiempos modernos me han enseñado que puedo usar varias herramientas para poder enseñar y que los participantes se involucren en el proceso de manera más activa. El pendrive viene a ser un objeto súper útil para guardar la información de diapositivas, videos, imágenes, así como los exámenes, material de apoyo, otros materiales de investigación ¡TODO! En poco espacio y de una manera rápida. Resulta que ahora los procesos de enseñanza en esta era tecnológica, no basta con el pizarrón y la tiza o marcador; ahora los participantes buscan imágenes, redes sociales, videos inspiradores y nosotros como docentes debemos adaptarnos a estos nuevos tiempos para usar la modernidad a nuestro favor. Aquí pasaré un poco de pena porque yo buscando la economía, hace un tiempo usaba era un aparato (que nunca supe como se llamaba) que tenía una memoria de teléfono y me servía de pendrive; pues resulta que en muchos equipos no se reconocía, me tenía guardada cosas que pensaba que había borrado y aparecían de la nada, confundía la información personal con la profesional por lo que tenía miedo que esta información fuera a parar a manos indeseadas, y al final, no me duró ni seis meses porque se daño de tal manera que perdí todo sin oportunidad de rescatar.
Como nos tocó pandemia y trabajaba desde casa, entonces no me ocupé de comprar otro "recolector de memoria", pero este año, ya ni por comodidad sino por necesidad tuve que comprar el pendrive. Una de las anécdotas más negativas es que enviaba la presentación por correo y no llegaba o debía la pc tener otro programa para abrirla por lo cual perdía mucho tiempo o peor, tenía que usar un plan B porque la presentación nunca abría ¡TODO UN CAOS! En mi institución, un colega los vende y los da a crédito por lo que no dudé en pedírselo; además, tiene opciones entre económicas y costosas pero al explicarme la importancia de tener un buen equipo, me fui por esta que costó $10. Al inicio hubiese dicho que no porque con $10 me compraba otra memoria 🤣 pero sabiendo la necesidad que tengo y es otra herramienta que mejorará mi trabajo, lo compré y lo pagué 😊.
The Kingston brand has a very good reputation, so it gave me confidence to buy it. The capacity was another thing that I liked because it is not that I have extensive material but the videos and sheets if they have information and are “heavy” so I had to buy a computer that could save all the information without the risk of being told “lack of storage space”.
As for the design I also liked it because it is discreet and has a protection for the tip that connects to the port of the pc; I think it is appropriate to emphasize this point because if this component is damaged we can damage the entire pen drive. It is light, easy to handle, so I keep it in my purse without worry, but sometimes I have to double check or put it in a small pocket so I do not lose it looking among so many things I take to class.
La marca kingston tiene muy buena reputación, por lo que me dio confianza para comprarlo. La capacidad fue otra de las cosas que me gustaron porque no es que tengo un material extenso pero los videos y láminas si tienen información y son "pesadas" por lo que debía comprar un equipo que pudiera guardar toda la información sin riesgo a que me dijera "falta espacio para el almacenamiento". En cuanto al diseño también me gusto porque es discreto y tiene una protección para la punta que se conecta al puerto de la pc; me parece indicado subrayar este punto porque si se daña este componente podemos dañar todo el pen drive. es liviano, de fácil manipulación, así que lo guardo en mi cartera sin preocupación, mas bien a veces debo revisar doble o colocarlo en un bolsillo pequeño para que no se me pierda buscando entre tantas cosas que llevo a las clases.

En cuanto a la instalación y uso, es como dirían ahora "megafácil"; los equipos donde lo he usado lo reconocen fácilmente, no le han encontrado virus (a mí pc se lo activé ahora), no necesita un programa especial, indica en qué formato esta guardado el documento, la capacidad refleja su uso, espacio libre. Aún no le coloco nombre ¿Qué me sugieren? Que no sea _florecita_ ja,ja,ja...

🕹 Ya no recurro "al correo", "no llegó la información", "no abre", sino simplemente tengo todo lo que quiero allí y solo lo conecto en el dispositivo y ya.
🕹 De igual forma, si hay una información de mi interés, ya no recurro al "envíalo por correo" y no llegaba, sino que sacó mi dispositivo y guardo directamente.
🕹 Solo lo uso de manera profesional así que toda la información que manejo de mis formaciones esta allí.
🕹 Si necesito una información rápida y al tenerla guardada allí, no tengo problemas con el internet, equipo o daño en el archivo ¡TODO ESTA ALLÍ A UN CLIK!
🕹 Le da mas seriedad a mi trabajo que estar con una tarjeta dañada pasando pena🤣.
Yo le doy un 10 y espero que aunque cuesta un poquito, hagan su inversión para poder guardar de manera eficiente nuestros materiales.
How has the pen drive changed my teaching?
🕹 I no longer resort to “mail it”, “the information didn't arrive”, “it doesn't open”, but simply have everything I want there and just plug it into the device and that's it.
