The lies I believed for a long time
Greetings everyone and welcome to my blog. It's a new month and I wish you all the best in all you do. I was so excited to share some of the lies I was told, but I later found out the truth.

Kids would always be kids and am guilty of picking things and drinking things from the floor but having very smart and intelligent brothers, saved me and my younger brothers. Whenever we are given a drink(soda), instead of drinking from the cup we pour the drink on the floor and drink from the floor but my elder brother told us the floor belongs to the devil and drinking from the form is a direct contact with the devil. They were just words but trust me we never took any drink from the floor.

When my brothers and I were very young when we travelled to my village for the first time and we saw Centipede for the first time. this brought so much fear to us and just as the name goes in Igbo Language (Agbakụrụ nwoke, ya ọ bụrụ nwanyị) meaning if it stings a man he becomes a woman and if it stings a woman she becomes a man. funny isn't it?
we were also told that as a young child whenever you break a cocoanut and eat the top part in their presence instead of giving it to the older ones around, on your wedding day it would rain cats and Dogs( Heavy rain).
My lovely father, who always comes back home with roasted meat(suya) on Friday night for the family to enjoy, would tell us to always wash our hands after eating the meat and if we dont, rats would eat our hands the facts that I hate rats I must wash my hands with soap to avoid any contacts with a rat.
there are a few I could remember some of them still make me laugh whenever I remember them.
these lies we were told as a child were lifesavers and helped us respect our elders and avoid some things that could hurt us.
Most of these lies had a positive influence on me, it is difficult for me to pick edible things from the floor because when am about to do so I remember the story about picking things from the floor I smile and let it go. The same influence has been passed on to my kids.
The lies we were told as kids have helped me to always acknowledge the presence of an elderly person when I have something to share.
