Ukraine - An ASEAN Perspective
If you haven't yet noticed. There is little to no comments coming from the ASEAN region aside from Singapore - who doesn't have much choice having their financial centers interdependent to the America's financial infrastructure. There are so many angles in which this article can start and there are so many historic lessons which I could use but I will do my very best to refrain from that.
Nevertheless, history is where I will begin - because that is the only way in which anyone else in the world would be able to understand our perspective. For your information, if you don't already know, there are only less than 15 independent countries prior to World War one.
As a matter of fact, today's modern economic structure was based on the system created a few hundred years ago. The system was establish in such that there will always be a loser.
If you look closely into New Zealand's economy and say Vietnam's. New Zealand, is just another agriculture based country, with little to no IP submissions, whereas Vietnam proven to be a place for innovation and trade. (I'm going to leave room for people to argue their case).
So, why then is their currency so high? You can argue about human rights, but honestly where are the Maori's rights?
The moral of the story is, it really doesn't matter how well your country is doing. Your country will always be what it is because that's how it was structured right after world war two. Your countries are meant to serve the west as it did for 200 years - thats why they gave you independence - or would you prefer to be administrated by any of the colonial armies?
How does this lead to Ukraine? some may ask. You see, Ukraine is just another tool in which the war machine need in order for it to continue prospering. It is proven that the Warsaw Pact was totally ignored, and the "allies continued advancing" even though there wasn't an "axis" anymore. I will not single out a specific country, but everyone know who makes weapons and sells weapons for profit these days. Other than it being for defense.
Through my travels, I noticed places like Myanmar, where there are wars in Chin and Shan, for over 5 decades. Even though there are obvious systems in which they could adapt to get out of war. They didn't, and they could not. Simply because the people who were profiting from the war, did not want it to end because they do not want to give up their lifestyle, their power and their ability to have unlimited servants. This is just human nature, what is done onto them, they would automatically feel that it is alright to do it back to another simply because thats what they got while growing up and they have gladly accepted that as how the world goes round.
One fine day, that war machine will end up on our doorsteps because there is a challenger to the colonial powers in this region. That time, we will be driven only by emotions because Southeast Asia is the most diverse place on the planet. That would be the driving force in which the machine will use.
When that time comes, who will accept us, and where will we go. Geographically, we are stuck and Historically we've been the most peaceful place in the planet until the colonial powers arrive.
Geopolitically, it would be alot more beneficial for us that Russia - Putin, stays in power, because they provide us with a good balance of power and if Russia - Putin falls - then the rest will fall down like dominos.
But if I'm totally honest with myself. It doesn't really matter if Putin falls or not, war in the South China Sea is inevitable because of Thucydides Trap. This is why they would end up in our door steps. Simply because they do not want to change their lifestyle, power and their ability to tell another human being that they are lesser than they should be irregardless of their sincere hard work, education, but only their colour of their skin makes the world of difference.
The only way for us to avoid war. Honestly, is to bring the war directly onto the War Machines door steps. They've been very happy destroying other peoples homelands, sacrificing Ukraine, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Pakistan, and the list goes on and on. But they will never ever allow anyone to go near, this is why the Cuban Missile Crisis was the closest it ever went. That got Che Guavara murdered in Africa.
I wanted to show this clip from Trevor Noah. Just to give you an illustration of what i mean. He jokes about it but he does make a very good point. Life isn't fair and this is how unfair it is. But I wanted to end this article by saying, there is another way, and I would like to dedicate this song to the people of the world.

Regardless of everyone's perspectives, War does nothing but bring suffering on its victims. Those are the people who need the most help.
Thank you very much. Im with you totally on this, but help should be shelter, food, clothing, and medication. Not weapons - coz its just encouraging the killing.
Yay! 🤗

Interesting post, @flipflopcrypto. As a 🇳🇿 New Zealander myself, I found your comparison of our economy to that of 🇻🇳 Vietnam very compelling ... and a little confronting too. It is quite true though that, technically, both countries are what are essentially known as Third World countries. According to this article, ...
My sincere apologies. I never meant to confront, but my intentions were just to inform. I have many New Zealanders as great friends even on the Hive.
However, I sincerely hope that people wake up to the fact and start treating one another appropriately and together fight climate change.
!PIZZA for love and peace!
No need to apologise, I meant "confronting" in a positive sense, as in, challenging preconceived notions. It is always good to have our preconceptions challenged once in a while, otherwise we can get complacent.
That's why I love Nzlders. Viva la NZ, Viva la Jacinta (hope u voted for her) hahaha
Yes, I did. She has been a very capable leader through some very trying times.
She's one of my favorite - Globally. To me, she sits on the same par as Margeret Tatcher - the only difference is. Jacinta is way way cooler!
True leader of the people!

You have a very interesting point of view on this. I am not giving you any comment on the facts because I have no basis for it. But your argument is very well presented, at first glance it seems logical, I have no doubt that it is. But I have no information at hand that would make me affirm or have a contrary point of view.
Thanks!
