MONOMAD || Caterpillar (Anisota senatoria)
Good night and greetings to all of us and tonight I want to share my picture, namely caterpillar.
According to Wikipedia, Anisota senatoria, the orange-striped oak caterpillar, also known as the orange-tipped oak caterpillar, is a Nearctic moth of the family Saturniidae and subfamily Ceratocampinae. It is one of the more common Saturniids, occasionally attaining pest status in the northern parts of its range.
In my area, people often call it by the name ulat. This caterpillar is usually often in the leaves of the rambutan tree, this caterpillar only eats the leaves of the rambutan tree, this caterpillar also often bends its body if someone wants to attack it.
This caterpillar has characteristics that are different from other types of caterpillars. The following are the characteristics of the caterpillar.
- has a body shape that is about 3 cm long
- has six legs of which three on the left and three on the right (forefoot)
- has eight attached legs of which four on the left and four on the right are located in the middle of the body
- has an orange body color, black stripes and has white spots
I found this caterpillar in my rambutan plantation, which coincidentally I was also looking for a photo object. Here are some pictures of these caterpillars.
Based on the image above I have edited it using the Lightroom application and I only increased the saturation, hope you like it.
