In this post, i will share a quite unique coffee experience. Its not everyday that we can find a coffee mixed with fruits even if we go to different coffee shop daily. I bet this menu is quite unusual for me and maybe for you too. Somehow this reminds me of the late 2021 - early 2022 trend of coffee orange combination. I believe it was such a big sensation in Singapore and slowly came to Indonesia. To be honest i dont know where that rave came from originally, maybe not even Singapore. All i know is that everyone who came to Singapore at that time will line up to that coffee shop who sells the orange coffee. Many said that its such a refreshing combination. I’ve tried that wild combination before too, when i was in my previous city which is Medan. For me, it was a refreshing taste but not the type of coffee that i actually enjoyed. I dont missed the feeling of it too. Recently, i’ve found out the reason why of that because i started to realize my coffee preference. Its true of what people tell me, i should try as many coffee as possible to know what i like. The coffee world is wide and big so if you keep looking, you will get something you actually love and crave.

This is the coffee that i’ve tried as we can see from the picture we can hardly feel the presence of another fruits in here. Its somwhow looks kike a palm sugar coffee, right? But, there is some fruit in there! When the barista recommend this menu to me, i said yes in a heartbeat. I am curious, i want to know what is that, i want to taste how it is. It is a wild combination to me. Durian and coffee, never expect that its a combination that will match well. And you know what, they match perfectly. I recommend this drink to a lot of friends after trying that, that is how much i find them fascinating. Durian is such a popular food in our country and we made a lot of food or drink made of durian. There is durian pancake, durian sticky rice, durian cincau, etc. Most of them are food with plain taste without the durian, then the durian came to highlighting the taste of the durian itself. I can say they acted as durian’s sidekick, its because durian has a very strong taste so putting them with another strong variant might be a mistake. That was my initial thought, coffee is strong and durian is strong. How to mixed them both? But, this coffee shop succeedly makes the perfect ratio of them. We can still taste the bitterness of the coffee and the creaminess and sweetness from the durian. It makes the coffee so effortlesly sweet and creamy.

Both durian and coffee separated are the kind of food that we have to watch before eating if we have ulcer problem. So, as i can expected, my stomach is bloating and i feel uncomfortable for the whole two days because of it. Its still worth all the uncomfortable that i felt because its such a fun and new experience to me. So, if you have any idea to try this wether its in coffee shop or make it bg yourself at home, make sure to check on your stomach condition first because it can be such a pain if we get sick because of such a delicious drink.

We also ordered one portion of fried cireng with rujak sauce. I will not tapk much about it even though it taste so so so good, it just doesnt match the durian coffee. We ended up finishing this first before actually enjoying the coffee. For me, i love to match my food and my drink. If somehow i ordered something that is so mixmatched, i will finished one immediately before enjoying the other to avoid enjoying them at the same time.

The price of the coffee is 29.000 idr. Its not so expensive because i understand that the price of durian is not cheap. I love it and will come to try again next time.
