What is it about Mondays?
I knew yesterday was going to be a potentially busy one. I hoped for it. It was, but not as I expected. I started early to be able to clear the usual daily crud grunt work. In fact, I had done some of that on Sunday.
The meeting with the new team went well and there is another "onboarding" meeting today. Have I said how much I loathe that word. Not quite as much as dead client time that is neither billable nor productive. I understand it's a necessary evil and shall grit my teeth and bear it. That said, and as I may have mentioned, I should not be babied or micro managed.
little humps...
Why this rant? It's self-talk ahead of today. Not only do I need this work, but I want it for what it is. It's the kind of work I can sink my teeth into. I like that. So, I have to look beyond these little humps...
Back to yesterday: after that meeting, a long-awaited piece of work arrived and, as is always the case, with new clients comes their way of working. However, in this case, the client is also new to the business of sub-contracting because she's decided to grow beyond being a sole service provider. Having been down that road, I can see the glaringly anal and OTT stuff that's being put in place that is unnecessary to her and intensely annoying to her sub-contractors and which even major agencies don't demand.
Another little hump to get beyond...
A happy interruption
Then, just as I was settling into that piece of work, two things happened. I realised it was lunch time which explained the hanger and I got a call from he whos property precipitated this.
Post script: I am trying to participate in @traciyork's November #HiveBloPoMo. I emphasise trying because the last two months have been exactly that - trying. There have been times that I've just been too exhausted and uninspired to post, let alone write something profound. That shouldn't stop you - or anyone. Read about how to participate here. He's visiting and there is business to attend to - and he wanted to say thank you - and his sister is here. And she'd enjoyed a Sunday Supper with us. And wanted to see us. The conversation went from joining them for a sundowner to joining them for supper.
It was the perfect end to another proper Monday. At the end of the evening we made an appointment for a "business" discussion which could result in a new project for The Husband and a new addition to the Destination McGregor client list.
Oh, and the photograph? Besides that I like it, when I was looking through my photos, this one resonated. It kinda symbolises where I'm at at the moment: trying to see the wood for the trees!

I've made it to day 15!
Until next time, be well

If this post might seem familiar, it's because I'm doing two things:
- re-vamping old recipes. As I do this, I am adding them in a file format that you can download and print. If you download recipes, buy me a coffee. Or better yet, a glass of wine....?
- and "re-capturing" nearly two years' worth of posts.
- From Wordpress, I use the Exxp Wordpress plugin. If this rocks your socks, click here or on on the image below to sign up.
