Mondays - sometimes I really don't like them

Sometimes I don't like Mondays. Yesterday was one of them. No, the events didn't send me down the path of the story immortalised in this Boomtown Rats song from the 80s but by the end of the day, I was more than done.

Because why? Well, in short, insufficient information. Being given only half a story wastes so much time. And that's just half of it. Ha! Some of it involved trying to get hold of someone in Scotland about his property which had been handed over (not) to me by his sister now in Canada. That, as we tried to settle the new gardener in and we couldn't find the keys to the tool room.

Then, I'm onboarding (I hate that word) new listings on to my other side hustle's website. They are both interesting, but in both instances, the owners' information falls short of everything I need to really make them searchable and fit with the conventions for delivering the information guests need. If you're interested: here's Stonehill Cottage and the House on the Hill. Compared with this time last year, it seems as though tourism is picking up and the property I manage is virutually fully booked for December.

It's going to be a busy and, hopefully, lucrative festive season.

And I'm not even going down the road of the frustrations I began venting about on Sunday. I have found a solution and I plan to share more about this - with an explainer. By the end of the week. I hope.

So, again, I was more than glad for a deliberate stash of meals in the jar. The Husband was (as always) starving and rejected the lentils in favour of rice, so they will become something else.

Supper was vegetable curry, basmati rice, sambals and my peach chutney.

There's only one bottle left and the peaches only come in in January.

It's got to last. Or at least until the apricots come in, in November.

And, as I end, what I should have done at least six hours ago, the week is improving.

Until next time, be well

If this post might seem familiar, it's because I'm doing two things:

  • re-vamping old recipes. As I do this, I am adding them in a file format that you can download and print. If you download recipes, buy me a coffee. Or better yet, a glass of wine....?
  • and "re-capturing" nearly two years' worth of posts.
I blog to the Hive blockchain using a number of decentralised appplications.
  • From Wordpress, I use the Exxp Wordpress plugin. If this rocks your socks, click here or on on the image below to sign up.

  • lastly, graphics are created using partly my own photographs, images available freely available on @hive.blog and Canva.

Your food looks so yum. Just like how we prepare our Indian food at home so much similarity i can see here. Specially the vegetable potato curry which I usually eat a lot with rice.

onboarding (I hate that word)

I wonder why you do hate it?

So....
Your peach chutney is likely to end before the new one could be prepared ..... is it you you who like it the most or your husband?

By the way, those pictures made my mouth filled with water.

I hate onboarding because it's a lazy way of saying we're doing what we need to do to orient new people to our business, place, etc. It sounds like some sort of torture, too!

Both of us like it. That said, we don't use it a lot in summer, so it might last. Just.

By the way, those pictures made my mouth filled with water.
