Flowers for a cause
I bought these flowers at the market. Bright and fresh but poignant.
I should have shared this yesterday but I was too caught up in having a rant about our misfortune. Our friend, the farmer who usually only brings flowers to the market at the height of the season made an exception for two reasons. The rain has turned our gardens and the veld in which he grows his wares, an unseasonal, bright green.
The second reason puts our hardships in perspective: the proceeds of the sales are all going to 9 year old Zoey's treatment. She has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (Type B) which was diagnosed when she was just 7. Sadly, she's had a major setback and must have aggressive chemo while they look for a suitable bone marrow donor. You can read her story - and make your own contribution - here.
Until next time, be well

If this post might seem familiar, it's because I'm doing two things:
- re-vamping old recipes. As I do this, I am adding them in a file format that you can download and print. If you download recipes, buy me a coffee. Or better yet, a glass of wine....?
- and "re-capturing" nearly two years' worth of posts.
- From Wordpress, I use the Exxp Wordpress plugin. If this rocks your socks, click here or on on the image below to sign up.

- lastly, graphics are created using partly my own photographs, images available freely available on @hive.blog and Canva.
It is so sad to hear about children afflicted by sickness at this age. But it is great that one can help in our day and age.
On a different note, sorry not for meeting up yet! Things have gotten a bit crazy and out trip to Swellendam has moved up a bit. We will get there!
Yes, it's awful. Hard to contemplate their suffering.
Not to worry - it had slipped my mind for the same reason. Incidentally, in case it
was in the planmatters, I won't be at the market on 4 March. I'll be at a wedding! You got time off for good behaviour! Enjoy the wedding :)
Hahaha! Thank you. We shall!
Oh the wedding sounds awesome! Enjoy it for us mere mortals that need to work and who are not invited haha. I will keep that in mind!
What a shame about the girl, and I hope they can find a suitable donor.
Gorgeous flowers though.
