Watching great players

If you want to make the most out of your Splinterlands collection, you have to play it yourself and win! That's what's going to make the most bang for your buck. But if you want to win, you have to study the game, otherwise you'll do nothing but waste your time, all while not earning as much as you could.

That's what we're doing in Bronze TOP BATTLES Studies: we analyze three battles from the highest MMR players, learn their strategies and try improving upon them. That's how we're going to become great players that make more money. We begin after our giveaways!

This is what I like to see! Someone using their head enough to put together a team that can beat Llama Grund (which is even better than Llama Kron).

The amount of extra turns the small critters get thanks to Lorna Shine's Divine Shield buff guarantees plenty of time to stomp Grund before he finally reaches the backline. A very nice way to stall the game.

Sneak attackers combined with Silvershield Knight. That's seven damage every turn, even before Silvershield Knight finally reaches the frontline, rounding up to 10 damage per turn. Not even Kron with Last Stand would sustain itself for long.

Yet again, a team that can kick Llama Grund's ass. Sure, it might be much more expensive to rent because of Valnamor, but we could easily replicate this result with Alric Stormbringer. It's not like Lorna Shine is particularly expensive.

We come to the conclusion that putting together a team with a heavy focus on damage is enough to beat Llama Grund, as long as damage dealers remain untouched for the first 2 rounds and, of course, as long as they deal enough damage.

Compared to the previous battle, this team deals 8 damage per turn, so it's even stronger versus Llama Kron and Llama Grund.

You wouldn't be able to use Sneak Attacks, so the Lorna Shine, Silver Knight and sneak attackers combination wouldn't get you far. A fair alternative in this scenario would be Rennyn.

That single attacker, Tenyii Striker, takes out the entire opposing team, despite dealing as low as 3 damage per turn while enemies dish out 7 damage per turn. How did this happen?

Ant Miners held the line. Because there were 3 monsters in front of Ant Miners, when it was finally their turn to tank, they managed to stay alive through several attacks. Despite heavy on damage, the Earth Splinter team was also very fragile. Tenyii didn't have to waste attacks on frontliners, so he pierced through the heart of those opposed @daballin.

We can see how 0 and 1 mana monsters become really important in high level battles, no matter what league you're in. But this is still specially true in Bronze and Silver, because mana cap per battle is generally much lower in these leagues.
