Hello lovelies of market Friday community, how's everyone doing? How is our going?

I'm feesbamz and it's My first time of posting in this community and I hope I'm welcome here.

It's another #marketFriday by @diswigle this week and as Muslim celebration is getting nearer, being a fashion designer it means work has started gradually i.e for those that don't want rushed sewing and/or a last minute delivery. Most often than not we get the materials ourselves for our customers which take me to the reason for writing this article FABRIC SHOPPING. This is not just fabric shopping at anywhere buh THE LARGEST TEXTILE STORE IN KWARA STATE, Mama Ifeoma is located at NO.7 IBRAHIM TAIWO ROAD ILORIN WEST, KWARA STATE. Stocked with different fabrics and in different categories. Would have loved to snapped the store front buh being the shy person I am it's qawkward for me 😅😅 .

This Guinea fabric looks somewhat plain from afar buh it's most times patterned that's why When sewn by an experienced designer it is often designed or mixed with another colour of fabric. It's pack of 4yards is sold at #17000($40.96 USD) which is a bit higher than usual #15000 ($36.1 USD)

This picture show the south-western print called Kampala. This is the process of tie and dye of cloth using the Indigo plant extract and the now usage of caustic soda and dye to make what is called ADIRE locally and now KAMPALA. It's pack of 5yards is sold at #6500 ($15.66 USD).

The price hike in the economy affects everything consumable including fabrics too because with #17000 you can get almost 2 packs of fabric that is not use to buy just a pack.

I understand how much inflation has caused so much in the economy also affecting the price of these fabrics.
Although I know barely nothing about fabrics and tailoring but you've made a great post. Cheers 🥂

I sure can see why it is the biggest store for fabrics. Must be like a candy store as a kid. Walking through it as a designer. The selection is large and so colourful.
Thank you for taking us along through the shop.
Have a lovely day today, enjoy your weekend 👋🏻☀️

The feeling is second to none

I had to refrain myself from posting more images and explaining more fabrics so as no to bore my readers... Thanks you and it's my pleasure 😊

The fabrics here are amazing! The colors, textures, and the sheer volume. How do you choose what to buy when you are in this store? I am not sure I would be able to! Please refrain from using the same pictures more than one time in the post. You have plenty to not have to do that.

How are the prices of the fabric now? Everything has gone up so much here, you just can't afford to buy some things. I hope you are able to purchase the products you need.

The Memorial Day Holiday took up more days than planned and now I have run so far behind in the comments of #MarketFriday that I am having to do the abbreviated reply on most that I didn't get to on Friday so that I can finish them in an (almost) timely manner. For this, As always, I have read them all at least once, some twice and as usual, I am pleased to say that I always get the best. I appreciate it so much. I just love how people have embraced the community and have really been making an effort to visit the other posts, learning about each other and giving pieces of advice, their opinions, and most of all, showing support to each other. That is what community is all about. I want to thank you for doing that.

Thank you for being part of #MarketFriday! I am honored.

#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers' markets, and eventually branched out and evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but, it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, and even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact that is these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world.

Fridays are all about the #MarketFriday Challenge! Looking to take part in it? Here is how:

Thank you ma'am
I'll try harder to abide by the rules of this community.

We were not able to get what we went for because the amount budgeted was lower to what we met
It'll require another trip to make proper preparation and get back to our customers.

Oh, that is harsh! I have to do much the same on some things, but, it goes to show you how much out of control these prices have become!
