Kids kiss pleat dress : practice day 3
Hello hivians
It's another sewing practice day. It's a kids dresses week for me and it's kind of interesting ๐ than I had anticipated in the beginning of the week ๐. Of course with trials and errors buh with help from my boss @taimah it was better with each trial and each questions asked
Welcome to today's episode ๐ of kids dresses. I decided to make this lace fabric a kiss pleated gown because apparently that's what I can make of the fabric quantity
This is the sleeve of the dress.
The rope for the shape. Sewing fitted for kids with these kinds of fabric is not really rational (my opinion though) Hence adding the rope for proper firmness after it's worn.
This here is the pleat itself. It's just the length of the remaining fabrics after removing the necessary bodice pattern (sleeve, ยฝlength and all)
Here is the ยฝlength. It can be called the bodice also. It's the firmer part of the dress to give it a pleasing shape and look.
Here is when I finished cutting the facing to the bodice. Had to add facing to the pleat here because this lace fabric is transparent and will not look good without one. If you noticed from fabrics I posted earlier I only added lining or facing to the upper bodice to reduce the heaviness for kid
Before turning the facing of the upper bodice. How it should be placed for sewing.
And sewn thinly round the neck circumference
For easier work in sewing
Iron as you go and that rule applies today because there was power supply at the time of my sewing and I really utilized it. Never underestimate the power of ironing as you sew in fashion.
Here I'm joining the pleat to the upper bodice
Nice job
Thanks @feyigold
