Diy of a fitted gown with princess bustier cut using an Ankara fabric
Hello needleworkers
This is the Ankara fabric (surely love the colours combination 🥰😻)
It's another get together Monday (as I'd love to call it) because of the excitement and anticipation I do feel to be a part of the community's get together 🤗
This week submission is a fitted gown with Ankara fabric. Let's go through the procedures
MATERIALS NEEDED
The fabric
The measurements
Chalk
Hair stay
Paper stay
Tape measure
Ruler
Interface(lining)
Matching Thread
The first step is to make the upper bodice pattern and cut out the bodice
then use the pattern paper to cut out the fFabric
Next is to cut the lower bodice (can be done on paper also, buh I decided to use freehand). Firstly cut out the front before using it to cut the back and adding zipper allowance to the back
It's time to cut interface (lining) to both the upper bodice and the lower bodice
Ironing Hair stay to the fabric and paper stay to the interface of the upper bodice is the next step. The purpose of this step is to give the fabric more strength to give the desired shape after sewing
Outcome of the ironing
We've come to the end of the cutting process, sewing is to be my next agenda at work because I don't have my personal sewing machine yet
It means I have to wait on machine at work🙈. I'll sure post my finished work when I'm done sewing
Beautiful thanks for sharing @feesbamz
