What is happiness?

Truthfully, happiness can take different forms, but there are some things you do that make you really happy. Today I will be sharing some things that truly make me happy, and this will be my entry for the Hive Naija weekly prompt. Make sure you join and enjoy the read.

What does happiness mean to you? What are the things you must have or engage in to achieve and maintain your happiness? For some people, it's money, while others will choose family; feel free to share with us things that make you happy...

Growing up as an adult, I have come to realize that it has been a long time since I can say I am truly happy. Being happy is beholding a smiling face, because a lot of people hide so many heartbreaking things behind that smile. I have traveled to different states in my country, I have stayed with a lot of people, and I have earned millions, but all this has not made me really happy, like the true happiness that I desire.

As time goes on, I realize that anytime I am facing one challenge or another that seems to be giving me a hard time, challenges that make me want to give up, I call home. Home is where my siblings and parents are. If I am far away from them, there is this amount of happiness that leaves me. I am not saying I am not happy at the place I am or that I am not happy with what I am doing, but my siblings and parents really do make me happy. I am so glad I have them, and we can play pranks on each other.

Another thing that makes me truly happy are my close friends. There is a popular saying that says, “Once boys are 15 years of age, they pick five friends and decide thats enough friends for a lifetime." I can relate to that so well because my childhood friends are still my best friends to date. We share our successes and failures together, and the best part of it all is when we get to play Call of Duty Mobile together. No matter the location, once we are in the game, we get to listen to each other; it feels like we are in the same place. There is this connection amongst us that I feel at that moment; it is just pure happiness.

Lastly, something that makes me happy is doing something I like, making plans, and it all working out. I like writing and playing games; doing these things makes me truly happy, especially when there is a reward for them. Yeah, money also makes me happy, but it's not the one that gives me the ultimate happiness. If I ever lose the things mentioned above, I don’t think any amount of money can ever make me happy the way I am when those things are around.

What does true happiness mean to you?

It means having my family and loved ones all gather in a place to be merry.

Hi Fashti!!!!

Once boys are 15 years of age, they pick five friends and decide that's enough friends for a lifetime.

I can also relate to this as well. Growing up, I had a group of girl friends, we were four. Till date we still keep tabs on each other as best as we can. It's not easy right now because we are scattered around Nigeria; none of us are in the same state. But we find ways to communicate.

Honestly as we get older, we realise that happiness is where our family and friends. And its important now more than ever, to hold our bond tight.

Nice write up dear. You really highlighted the real things that bring pure happiness to us.
See you around!

Parents are the true picture of Love in this world. They always back us and stand with us in every down moment of the life. They are also playing the role of friends. Moreover, friends are the ones who always holds our hand with proud.
