ANIMALS ARE ESSENTIAL SPECIMEN

Animals can be classified into various forms. I am not a biologist or zoologist to enumerate all the possible classes however I would try and share my perspective. When I stumbled on the topic, it took me sometime before I could reorganise myself to drop forth something.

It's been an amazing moment here participating in varied themes most importantly for this edition. Science has really done a lot of positive transformation in the lives of human today. Anytime I sit down, I appreciate God for what he has done through the hands of science if not I wonder where we would have been by now.

The use of animals as a test specimen instead of directly using it on human being is good and also an excellent way of preserving lives. It will be catastrophic if you administer something that hasn't been tested on human beings just like that. I would like to share a true life story of colleague of mine that used animals precisely rabbit to test run his experiment.

His research work was based on the use of lead as a chelating agent against lead poison. I would like to explain it in a clear lay man's understanding. He worked on a substance that could be used to treat or deal with lead poison. Before the synthesized substances were administered to human beings, it was first and foremost practicalize on the animals.

About 50 rabbit were used and caged for almost six months. They were properly fed and taken care of approximately. Their PCV was taken at different interval and they were poison with lead. The substance he produced is dodecane lead. It was administered to these animals. At the end of the experiment, it was shown that half of the rabbit that were poison with lead died while those who were poisoned and given the prepared anti lead substance survived it.

This clearly gave an indication that when equated to human beings, one should expect similar reactions and experiences. Had it been animals weren't used to ascertain the level of effectiveness what would have happened to human beings? Something dangerous would have happened.
Using animals as a test strip is good and very important in averting the great effect that would have occurred to human beings. Its fair to use animals. Today, my friend's work has been adopted and accept by all now.

I could remember one of my pastor's friend too that used his dog to test for something. He was given food else where to eat but when he returned home, he quickly gave it his dog to test before he eats it. After some minutes, the dog started reacting and misbehaving suddenly it died. Later it was discovered that the food was poisoned. Just imagine if it was a human being that ate the food nko?The animal took the death of his master. There so many similar stories like that.

Now that Christmas is here again, would you like to slaughter any animal? Should I say don't eat any poor innocent animals.
Thanks so much for reading my post.

You are very correct. Instead of testing an object on humans directly, it has to be done on the animals first to ensure its safety on hhuman.

I also agree with the fact that the use of animals as an experimental tool in detecting a disease should continue.

I always say life isn't black and white.
Just like you have explained it would have been catastrophic if every drug was administered to humans without animal trials but we live in a world with people with diverse perspectives. While some might feel it is something necessary to ensure human safety, some might consider it as something unfair to the animals but it is what it is.

Oh yes our perception differs. Some worship animals whereas others animal serves as food. Either side of the coin.

Thank you for stopping by

It is a harsh reality, but instead of endangering the life of any human or animal, it should be able to be proven in another way, that there are some but they are also morally and politically incorrect, as are, for example, conducting experiments on clones, that could help to have more reliable results.

It must be taken into account that animals do not have the same organs as humans, so the results will not always be completely reliable, only in a general way.

On the other hand, there is a great ethical and religious dilemma; doing experiments on clones is not welcomed by the church, and that is a controversial issue. I believe that at the end of the day it is a matter of survival, of staying alive or not, so we are forced to do tests on animals, or we become extinct as a species. The answer is obvious: we will continue doing experiments on animals.

Wow this is insightful really. Later I kept wondering and in an attempt to bring balance to this topic everyone's view seems to be right based on factors like belief, perception etc. Different religion have different kind of idea for animals. Thank you once again for sharing similar view me on this.
