Decaying

Hydrangea autumn pl 3.jpg

I absolutely adore hydrangeas! The huge, fluff clusters of tiny, delicate flowers. They can grow to quite large bushes with dark leaves and look just spectacular!

And so it happens that mum also likes them and planted a few different colours around the garden. But I often miss the blooming time and only see the leftover. Which are also pretty and photographable. Every time :)

This particular one is the newest addition to the garden. I cant remember its name, unfortunately. It opens as a single colour, but with time the flowers slowly turn to pink, and the clusters end up with two colours at the same time. A small bush
planted under the large birch tree we have growing in one corner of the garden.

Some of the flowers (which are actually adapted leaves I heard) still have some colour left.

Proof of Birch tree. I did not put that leaf there. I swears :)

The hydrangea leaves are also preparing for winter. This is a deciduous plant and will also need to be trimmed a bit before the next season. But there is still time. It can be done in early spring, I think.

Peekaboo :)
Just because it is #caturday today.

And because she looked so cute hiding in the bushes.

Thank you! They do grow in warm climates too (in Portugal for example), but handle cold weather very well!

What a beauty of photographs, I am anxious to have a 105mm lens, although I think I would not achieve such good images.🙋🙋

Beautiful photos, the plant looks like an autumn one that has lost its colors. You took the cat by surprise! 😄

These flowers do go into dark colours in autumn! I wonder if I should try growing this here. I do like them as big bush plant!

They are quite popular plants to grow in a garden in Europe.
