Northern Lights in April, 23
Probably, many have already heard how, on the night of April 23-24, the night sky lit up with northern lights, so much so that it was seen in the southern latitudes!
I saw the Aurora by accident. That evening I was photographing courtyards at night in one of the villages near Vologda and drew attention to a strange haze in the sky, and then I saw some rays.
I looked closely and saw that it move! As an experienced aurora hunter, I immediately realized that this is the same natural phenomenon.
It only remained to make sure and capture the open area of the sky on the camera. Yes, it is the Northern Lights.
I was struck by its strength - you rarely see an Aurora at its zenith.
I have not been following solar activity forecasts for a long time, since the landscape has ceased to be the main genre in which I shoot.
And this time, I briefly succumbed to the temptation to drop everything and leave to shoot landscapes with radiance, but I pulled myself together...or rather, cleared my cache (did not succumb to temptation and prejudice) and worked out the yard spaces in this settlement.
At first, the aurora stole my attention, but I was able to treat it as something familiar, admire it, take a couple of shots and go about my business.
And then the sky was overcast with clouds.
From my understanding the aurora is just a solar flare hitting earth. It is still a beautiful thing to behold though I'm sure. 😁😁
Wie so cool that purple color! 💜 💚
