Dugouts in Dubrovskoye

How many times have I tried to find them there, but all the time I saw in Dubrovskoye only garages, baths and private stables. Very often I come across dugouts so casually that it's like someone or something is leading me to this. It is as if some force forces you to reopen the map of a place that has already been studied dozens of times and traveled several times.

And so I found them! The cellars are in a place where I did not expect to see them at all.

There is a central street in Dubrovsky that divides the village in half. And now the second half is occupied by the private sector with cottages.

But for some reason, after reviewing this part again, I came across ordered structures, which gave out vegetable storages immediately.

There are few dugouts here and they are square.

I was more pleased with the fact that I found them after all! There are places that leave no chance...but Dubrovskoye was constantly in doubt.

And I also learned that there is absolutely no relationship between their presence and the type of settlement.

They can be even in the smallest village or in a big city. Or they may not be. And this is due only to traditions, as well as to the prosperity of families.

Village houses always have a cellar, but it might not be enough to store vegetables. When the number of family members increased over time, the household built a separate cellar in the courtyard of the house.

Or it could just be a tradition to put the cellars in one place. And in another village, this tradition might no longer exist. But one relationship was still found - it's the bushes of villages or the whole area.
