Gear Up

I would like to showcase you my newly set up and organised photography gear. For the first time ever all my photography paraphernalia is all stored and organised in the same place, instead of scattered about the apartment. This is not the most creative space but more designed for function.

Now there is an easy access to everything I need, without having to run around to dig into five different cabinets, boxes and under the bed. What you can’t see are a couple more stands to the left together with paper backdrops. Everything still well contained in their designated area.

I could upgrade this space further with a few hooks on the wall where I could hang my softboxes on so I never have to unfold them again, but we’ll see how this works. It wouldn’t be a horrible idea to print out some more of my works too and hang up the bare wall.

It would be fantastic if I could manage to keep everything looking this nice but all it needs is one shoot and a creative mess will once again take over.

PS. Do note that on display is a photography book by our very own @kommienezuspadt whose work is forever an inspiration.

It's all so neat!

When I moved countries and sold all my gear, I honestly had no idea just how much I had... I'm sure it multiplies. I was able to keep all my soft boxes up all the time, there was just a section of the garage we couldn't use, but there's usually so much prep before a photoshoot I was super happy to not have to put those together each time. I love love love a good reflective dish. It was my favourite honestly.

So you no longer have much gear or did you re-buy most of the same stuff after the move? I want to love the beauty dish but I haven’t played with it that much yet.

No... no longer have any of the gear... I've just got a super cheap Canon and 2 lenses and that's it. We'll end up moving internationally again at some point so I'm not keen to reinvest.

The beauty dish looks great on the wall!

I really need to do an updated "kit" post. That pelican case is now full, that I spoke about the last time I commented on your gear posts!
