Christmas Gift Slipovers

I always gift knitwear to some of my closest humans and this time it was for mom and my sister. I am pretty sure I haven’t shown these here yet because I couldn’t show them before Christmas and ruin the surprise.

This slipover with open sides is a pattern called Terrazzo Neck from PetiteKnit. Anything she designs I want to make and wear.

I knew I had to make these as a gift first even though I would prefer testing the pattern on me first, because I was pretty sure if either mom or my sister saw me wearing it they’d ask about it and then it wouldn’t come as a surprise on Christmas. I’ve yet to make one for myself but I really want to.

To pattern is simple enough but so well constructed and the yarn choises luxurious to knit with. Two yarns are held together, a wool/merino with a fluffy silk mohair. The beige/greige colour went to sister and petrol to mom. I did these pretty much back to back within couple weeks, and over two months before Christmas! Never have I ever been this prepared with knitted gifts.

I hear mom and sister have both enjoyed their gifts and I just saw my sister wearing hers. I knew this slipover would work well for her and how she styles herself. I’ve yet to see my mom wearing hers, might need to ask for proof-of-wear photo.
