I was like every other young child out there who grew up with the mentality that becoming or telling every adult who cared to listen that I wanted to become a doctor, a lawyer, a nurse, a banker, or a newscaster at every interval when I we as asked, especially the white collar job: "What I wanted to become was the deal".

But as I grew up I became even more confused about what I wanted for myself, thank God for my late father who wasn't really after his daughter becoming an exact occupation for himself or giving her a particular occupation to become like I saw many parents.

He just wanted his daughter to become something commendable but he wasn't the father who would command you into doing things especially things that are for yourself.

Discovering Your purpose in life and what your passion is could make all the difference in your life, allowing you to focus your energy on where it's needed and doing the needful not just for yourself but for all that may be around you. For this week, we want to hear about this journey of yours in discovering yourself.

Funny enough, till I was done with my secondary education, I had nothing in mind, I was scared, and felt my low self-esteem drop because unlike many of my mates, they knew immediately what they wanted to become.

Well, not until after three years when I was done with school, I sat down there that fateful morning, as a class teacher, teaching the kids, on a particular subject (CRK) and I felt so joyous that I wanted to do something that would help me reach out to young kids like them.

Four years after that day, while writing for admission, I put in Guidance and counseling, although I got so many questions about how I could do something more professional and money-earning but I just knew that was what I wanted, and yeah fortunately and luckily for me, I got admission to study my dream course (B.ED) and I am also looking forward to furthering my education on that same course to gain more knowledge. The truth is, it has not been easy running it alone as the person sponsoring myself but I know that I am going to achieve it someday.
