DEAR DIARY
I am writing to you to report a certain group of people who are making my life difficult. I felt compelled to write this down to help me remember this day, and I will show it to them when the time finally comes.

Dear Diary, Does Marriage Serve As The Only Certificate Of Success?
Last night, my mother called to remind me that one of her neighbor's daughters is getting married this weekend. I knew where she was pushing her message to, so I answered, "Yes, Mama," but I also understood that she wanted me to take the appropriate action.

Dear Diary, Is Being Married After School A Tradition?
People used to think that a lady's next step was to get married after graduating from college. They didn't seem to care if the woman was okay or not. This belief has led some women astray, some were used for rituals because they wanted to do things right by obeying their parents and they ended up in the hands of kidnappers.

WHY AM I WRITING THIS IN MY DIARY?
When I saw this week's contest, I was happy and I had plans to write about how I plan for the coming Christmas but the call I received last night made me change the topic,
I know I should write about how I plan to spend Christmas, but I'm not in the mood. What good is it to write about how I plan to spend Christmas when my family's expectations and frustrations are making me feel bad? The only person I can relate to is my diary, and my diary knows everything about me and will never divulge my secrets to anyone.

Dear Diary Will I Dance To Their Tunes?
There's a lot of pressure on me. I don't want to settle down with a man right now, I have goals to accomplish before thinking and making such a decision like that. Marriage is not just a place you can enter today and back out tomorrow, in my country we see marriage as a life contract, it is a school that a lady never graduated from but I had already had plans on what I want to achieve before that, I want to be independent and never depend on a man. I want my opinion to matter in my home. I want to live a luxurious life without ever having to depend on a man. I want to be known for myself and not to live in the shadow of another man.

Dear Diary, Why Are My Aunts And Uncles On My Case?
During my brother's wedding last year, I overheard my mother and one of my aunts talking about when I would get married. She was inquiring about when I would get married, which was the genesis of this whole issue. They were discussing what dress they would wear that day, how they would look amazing, and how they would invite guests to the wedding. I was just curious as to know why my aunt would be involved in my affairs since she never contributed to my success when I was in school but now she wants to be the chief event planner for my wedding.

My aunts have planned my wedding without my involvement because they think it should be extravagant, they are the life of the party, and they can afford pricey attire for a single day. However, my preferences are completely different from theirs, all I want is a small wedding at a church and courtroom with no reception.

Dear diary, Keep this for me, I'll add more when I hear more from them, but for the time being, this is what I'm experiencing from my family.
