Renovando un viejo Portalápices || Renovating an old Pencil Holder ♥🎨
¡Hola Chicos!
Desde hace días vengo pensando que necesito un portalápices para mi mesa de trabajo. Tengo las cosas en una cartuchera pero la verdad no es muy cómodo estar sacando mis pinceles de ella.
Por eso pensé en buscar un portalápices y aunque tengo varios, ninguno me atraía como para ponerlo ahí en mi mesa. Dejé de lado la idea y comencé a pensar en qué caja ubicar mis pinturas para que no me ocupen espacio en la mesa.
Esto también ha sido un problema porque las suelo apilar una arriba de otra pero me ocupa mucho espacio y mi mesa es realmente pequeña. Entonces me fui al cuarto que tenemos de depósito y busqué un cajón de plástico donde tenía algunas cosas de mis manualidades.
Coloqué todo sobre mi mesita y por un momento me sentí súper aturdida por el desastre. Comencé a buscarle un espacio a cada una de las cosas, boté otras y así poco a poco se fue despejando la mesa.

For days I have been thinking that I need a pencil holder for my work table. I have things in a pencil case but it's not very comfortable to take my brushes out of it.
That's why I thought about looking for a pencil holder and although I have several, none of them attracted me to put it there on my desk. I put the idea aside and started to think about what box to put my paints in so they wouldn't take up space on the table.
This has also been a problem because I usually stack them on top of each other but it takes up a lot of space and my table is really small. So I went to the room we have for storage and found a plastic drawer where I had some of my craft stuff.
I placed everything on my little table and for a moment I felt super stunned by the mess. I started to find a space for each one of the things, I threw others away and little by little the table was cleared.
En eso me encontré con este viejo (MUY VIEJO) portalápices. Este era de mi mamá creo. Recuerdo tener unos 5-6 años y verlo en casa.
La verdad su color no me gustaba para nada, y como necesitaba un portalápices pensé en darle una nueva apariencia para así darle por fin un uso.
Lo que si me gusta es su forma triangular, ya que es algo fuera de lo común.
In that I came across this old (VERY OLD) pencil holder. This was my mom's I think. I remember being about 5-6 years old and seeing it at home.
The truth is that I didn't like its color at all, and since I needed a pencil holder I thought I would give it a new look and finally give it a use.
What I do like is its triangular shape, as it is something out of the ordinary.
Me puse manos a la obra y pensé primero en pintar la base con pintura negra. Apliqué una capa pero luego de pensarlo bien, preferí dejar esto a un lado pues con el roce de aquí para allá se borraría igual.
Así que trabajé con la estructura. La pinté con un tono crema, apliqué la primera capa pero como la superficie es de plástico se notaba bastante.
I got down to work and first thought of painting the base with black paint. I applied a coat but after thinking it over, I preferred to leave this aside because with the rubbing back and forth it would rub off anyway.
So I worked with the structure. I painted it with a cream tone, I applied the first coat but as the surface is plastic it was quite noticeable.
Apliqué la segunda capa pero aún se notaba la base, así que apliqué una tercera en sentido vertical.
Todavía podía ver ciertas partes pero pensé en dejarlo así porque igual iba a pintar más capas con otros colores.
Estaba indecisa con el diseño, pero luego de un rato me encontré con un diseño como de pintura chorreada que me gustó. Así que tracé la base con lápiz.
Pensé en pintar un diseño diferente en cada una de las paredes del portalápices.
I applied the second coat but the base was still showing, so I applied a third coat vertically.
I could still see certain parts but I thought I would leave it like that because I was still going to paint more layers with other colors.
I was undecided about the design, but after a while I came up with a drippy paint-like design that I liked. So I traced the base with pencil.
I thought I would paint a different design on each wall of the pencil holder.
Las capas serían blanco y negro, así que comencé con el blanco, al cual me tocó darle también varias capas, y luego con el negro con el que pude mejorar la forma y corregir errores. Así quedó lista la primera de las partes. Esta se llevó parte de las otras dos caras.
The layers would be black and white, so I started with the white, which I also had to give several layers, and then with the black with which I could improve the shape and correct mistakes. Thus the first of the parts was ready. This one took part of the other two faces.
En la otra cara hice unos pequeños arcoíris. Para finalizar le coloqué unos lunares con los mismos colores empleados en el arcoíris.
On the other side I made some small rainbows. To finish I placed some polka dots with the same colors used in the rainbow.
Para la última cara del portalápices quise hacer unos muñequitos negros, que investigando tienen un nombre y son de un anime. Se llaman Soot Sprites.
Me parecen súper tiernos y por las imágenes que encontré de ellos me di cuenta que casi siempre están sosteniendo algo.
Así que se me ocurrió hacer unas pequeñas esferas con los mismos tonos que había utilizado anteriormente, y que ellos estuvieran cargando algunas más pequeñas.
Luego de hacer la forma peludita, hice los brazos, luego el objeto que cargaban y finalmente los ojitos, que le dieron vida. ♥
For the last side of the pencil holder I wanted to make some little black dolls, which I researched and they have a name and are from an anime. They are called Soot Sprites.
I find them super cute and from the images I found of them I realized that they are almost always holding something.
So it occurred to me to make some little spheres with the same shades I had used before, and have them carrying some smaller ones.
After making the furry shape, I made the arms, then the object they were carrying and finally the little eyes, which brought them to life. ♥
Así terminé el porta lápices. La verdad luce mejor de lo que esperaba y está súper inspirador. ♥
Me encantaron todas sus partes pero mi favorita en definitiva fue la de los Soot Sprites.
Ahora si tengo donde colocar los pinceles y me siento súper feliz con eso. Lucirá genial en mi mesa de trabajo. 😊

I loved all the parts but my ultimate favorite was the Soot Sprites.
Now I do have a place to put the brushes and I'm super happy with that. It will look great on my work table. 😊
