ENG//ESP. My Large Family // Mi Familia Numerosa

Hello my dear friends of Hive, in this opportunity I am going to tell you a little about my family, which is very large. My maternal grandmother had 12 children, most of whom are great-grandparents and my grandmother, thank God, is still alive, is a great-great-grandmother. During the vacation season we used to get together almost all of us, and I say almost all of us because there are always many who for some reason stay behind.

Hola mis queridos amigos de Hive, en esta oportunidad voy hablarles un poco sobre mi familia, la cual es muy numerosa. Mi abuela materna tubo 12 hijos los cuales la mayoría son bisabuelos y mi abuela gracias a Dios, aún con vida es tatarabuela. Por temporada de vacaciones acostumbrábamos a reunirnos casi todos y digo casi todos por que siempre faltan muchos que por algún motivo se quedan.

There are always some new family members to meet because they get a new partner, get married or have new children, but for sure there are some people you have to meet.

Siempre hay algunos familiares nuevos que debemos conocer, por que consiguen pareja, se casan o tienen nuevos hijos, pero de seguro algunas personas tienes que conocer.

We have to take the pictures by parts: the older aunts, the older cousins, the younger cousins, the younger cousins because it is difficult to take pictures of all of them together.

Tenemos que tomar las fotos por parte: las tías mayores, los primos mayores, las primas menores, los primos menores porque es difícil tomar fotos a todos juntos.

After the tournament we continue playing and we start what we call the great pique, which is to continue playing until the body endures, the worst team gets an imaginary trophy that we call the yucca and we make fun of them for a long time by the family group and every time a small group meets and there is someone who took the yucca we make fun of him or them until we have another tournament and they get even.

Después del torneo seguimos jugando y se prende lo que llamamos el gran pique, que es seguir jugando hasta que el cuerpo aguante, el peor equipo se lleva un trofeo imaginario que le decimos la yuca y a esos le hacemos burla durante mucho tiempo por el grupo familiar y cada vez que algún grupo pequeño se reúne y hay alguno que se llevó la yuca nos burlamos de el o de ellos hasta que tengamos otro torneo y se desquiten.

The oldest of my uncles is almost eighty years old, but he looks very young and my aunt doesn't like to talk about her age so I won't say anything just that she is the oldest of the women.

El mayor de mis tíos tiene casi ochenta años, pero se ve muy joven y a mi tía no le gusta hablar de su edad así que no diré nada solo que es la mayor de las mujeres.

In the house for sure we can't all fit when it's time to sleep so those of us who are more adventurous stayed in tents on the beach and those who like to sleep in a small bed went to the house at night and arrived the next day since the house is not far away.

En la casa de seguro que no cabemos todos a la hora de dormir así que los que somos mas aventureros nos quedamos en carpas en la playa y los que les gusta dormir en camita se iban a la casa por la noche y llegaban al día siguiente ya que la casa no está lejos.

As you can appreciate the date that happened a long time ago, unfortunately we have a long time without meeting as before because now we are scattered around the world: Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Argentina, Ecuador, USA, Spain ... and that tradition of getting together was lost.

Como pueden apreciar la fecha eso paso hace tiempo ya, lamentablemente tenemos mucho tiempo sin reunirnos como antes ya que ahora estamos dispersos por todo el mundo: Colombia, Perú, Brasil, Argentina, ecuador, USA, España… y esa tradición de reunirnos se perdió.

I don't have pictures of everyone but I can tell you that we haven't met like this for several years... let's hope that the situation will change in Venezuela someday and we can meet like before, until a future publication.

No tengo fotos de todos pero les puedo decir que tenemos varios años que no nos reunimos así… esperemos que la situación cambie en Venezuela algún día y podamos reunirnos como antes, hasta una próxima publicación.
