Snails, Plum And Wood

These are photographs I've been trying to post since last month and never get there to do it, till now. This is a rare moment in my Hive life though as I usually don't post about snails. In the city you only see snails after the rain and then I'm always picking them up and throwing them in the bushes, to avoid people stepping on them.

We also have some in the garden, which is a much more serious problem. While in the city no one cares about snails, when you have a garden and the snails are eating your seedlings, you do care.

Have a close look at the leaf on the photo above. Half of it is mussing. Can you guess why? Yes, you're right, because the snails have eaten it.

This time I was lucky as these snails were not on the ground as usual, but were on the top of a bush, which is rare or very unusual, but was perfect for me.

The other interesting thing I saw and took photos of in June was this thing. I don't even know how to call it, maybe fungi? 🤷‍♀

This thing was hiding in the crevice of a tree trunk. I can't even imagine how many are passing by this tree and don't pay attention to details. That's the reason this yellow fungi is still alive and well.

Plums? Anyone? These plums are new, I took the photo today. These are tiny plums, were laying on the ground, at the edge of the sidewalk. There were plenty on the ground and basically all the fruits are going to end up on the ground as no one wants heavily polluted plums.

This post is a mix of all things and I'm glad to also include some wood texture, one of my favorites. Freshly cut wood for me is like a magnet. I can't pass by without having a good look and taking a ton of photos.

The first thing I'm thinking when I see such cut wood is how would I illustrate it one paper, or how would I draw it on paper. Each piece has a nice texture and must be difficult to draw something like this.

Here for example there are the circular rings, testifying about the age of the tree and the cutting lines. Maybe a talented artist could do it, but not me.

And I think today is my lucky day again. Looking at the photos, look at what I have just discovered. For me that looks like a heart, a cute one.

So this is my daily dose of nature.
