Monkey Parade

The whole thing started a few days ago, when I did a post about my denim blackout curtain and because it has two pockets, I put a cute toy in each pocket.

What can I say? The two cutie pies stole the whole show as almost every commenter was charmed by them. I don't mind as the curtain serves me and at least we had some fun.

As you can see, these two ladies thought only they have cool toys 😜😏

If you don't know these ladies, @livinguktaiwan has a little lady called Snowpea and she's taking her to trips around the world, or maybe just Europe?🤔 Or is Snowpea taking @livinguktaiwan to trips to show off? 🤔🤷‍♀️ I'm confused, dunno which one it is 😂

@zirochka has Sonia, who has recently been to Hivefest in Amsterdam. I'm sure she would love to travel more but unfortunately the crazy situation in Ukraine does not permit traveling right now.

Anyway, I told @livinguktaiwan that I have a whole monkey collection and they both said they would love to see it. This is why I'm here today, doing my first post in this community.

I'm going to show you my whole collection, none of them has a name (shocking? 😂) and I'm not going to list them in chronological order as I have no idea of their order. I know which one was the first, but the rest? I have no idea.

The whole craziness started with this little guy many years ago. He was sitting in the window of a bookshop. I spotted him on my way to work and could not forget it. Then the next day I passed by again, looked at him and was thinking about him all day. Then the third day I went in and brought it home with me. My nephew was a toddler back then and he loved it.

Then there's this fellow, which I also bought. I remember seeing him at the toy shop and could not leave him there. Looks at that cute smile? How can you not love him? So I brought him home too.

This cutie was a gift from a friend. He knew I like monkeys, so he gifted me this one.

This one might look scary, but no worries, he hasn't bitten anyone yet 😂 This one was a gift from Germany. It's a funny story actually. My dad has a German friend, who is working for a huge charity and helping those in need all over the world. This guy is responsible for a few European countries, among which my country as well. He used to visit those families that they are helping regularly. (He's been sick for a few years so he's not able to do those visits anymore.) My dad is supervising these families, so the money and the goods end up where it is needed. Anyway, I'm jumping in as an interpreter when they come as they only speak German and English and my dad speaks neither, so I'm putting my English knowledge to good use.

The German guy is always bringing 3 huge plastic bags of plush toys and he's giving them to poor kids along the road. He used to take my dad for a ride, stop when he saw kids and my dad used to drop them these soft toys. Most likely my dad told him I like monkeys so he used to bring me a couple every time he visited. I remember him always laughing while giving them to me, as he put those monkeys aside just for me 😂

This poor guy is also from Germany. I'm not sure why is he as he is, most likely he has had better days, but I got it like that.

Then there's this chap, also from Germany.

I bought this one myself. When I saw his funny face, I could not leave him in the store. That big mouth and those big eyes ... 😂

This one was also purchased years ago. Love at first site, what can I say?

This is not a monkey, I hope you can see that. This was a gift but can't remember when i got it or who I got it from (nice, isn't it?). There are two possible suspects as this is a product distributed by the Life Care company 😂 So it's either one or the other. Simple math, both have 50-50% chance.

Last, but not least, there's this lady holding that big walnut in her paw 😁. This was also a gift from Germany.

Shame on me, most of them are having their home is the wardrobe, because there's no space for them, but even so, I love each and every one of them.

Last week I took a big bad to a charity that is collecting clothes to kids in need. This is a habit of mine as first I believe in recycling, reusing and giving a second life to things i don't need. This charity looked legit, I went there, saw what they have collected so far and they gave me a receipt for the donation, although i didn't need one. They said that's the law and they have to do it. The truth is, when I saw how many I have, I thought I should give some to charity as Christmas is coming, but I can't. My heart would break honestly.
