I decided to draw this after eating pizza.

Here's a random story that describes the random origin of this illustration.

One month ago, one of my friends @debilog moved in with me in the apartment unit I'm renting in Metro Manila. At some point, another of our friends, Z, visited to check out the unit and eat dinner with us. We had pizza and, very randomly from @travelingmercies, a semi-huge ball of pomelo.

While chatting and eating away the night, Z saw my tablet for the first time since I bought it. She checked out my drawings from my gallery and saw all my saved Pins. Z is also pretty interested in drawing and thought that this particular Pin will be very interesting to draw. I can't remember who commented (most likely me, though!), but one of us said something along the lines of "What do you think of the three of us drawing this reference in our styles?"

Lo and behold, I finally managed to chip in my share of the challenge after a couple of weeks. Z was able to draw her interpretation, too! I won't be sharing it here, though, and hope that she decides to create a Hive account and post it herself instead. Debilog is yet to draw hers and, needless to say, I can't wait to see how hers will go!

Pizza might have some sort of effect on me. I just end up craving to pick up the pen and start illustrating again. If nearly one month ago we decided to draw on something, it is only tonight, after eating pizza again, that I finally got to finish it.

So here it is!

As with many others from my collection of portrait drawings, this is one that took me many days before it saw completion. I just very nearly dropped it, but still wanted to respect the "challenge" between us friends.

I should probably be doing homework or answering problem sets for school. But here I am instead. Talk about priorities!

(So sorry about the quality of the GIF! I also uploaded it as Youtube shorts but it seems even the quality there is just as bad. :( I used Medibang's Timelapse feature for this. I probably should have stuck with what I was previously doing.)

At some point tonight, while drawing, Debilog asked how I drew hair. I ended up showing her how I usually do it. 🙈
