A girl has a name and a face

I like to believe that it is as a matter of tradition here on Hive and anywhere else for that matter to introduce one's self when you first meet new people. Even if it is virtual. So, please stay with me as I let you into parts of the dynamic, yet, beautiful art that is my life.

My name is Amaka, and by this you already know I'm of the Igbo tribe, if you're Nigerian like me. And if you're not? Well, now you know (smirks mischievously) Getting a college degree in law from Ebonyi state university has been one hell of a roller-coaster. But I'm more than glad that it is finally over. I'm an Ada(first daughter) as well as the first child. Being in this position, especially coming from a dysfunctional family system played a huge role in shaping me. I recently (less than a month ago) relocated to Lagos Nigeria, though my childhood was in Lagos, I left after junior secondary school, and now I'm back.

I'm extremely family oriented, I'm intentional about seeking out meaningful connections, especially friendships. I don't do so well with romantic relationships, so (I don leave that one for the people wey get am. Lol) I'm most happy when I'm able to share the little and big things that matter in my life with my family, note that when I say family, it's all inclusive of my best friend @atyourservice. Girl, thank you for believing I and this platform are deserving of each other and putting me on, though I was reluctant at first. Please stay with me.

Regrettably, I enjoy the idea of vulnerability but it's something I struggle so much with, my best friend doesn't think this is in any way true, and she'd be right to disagree. But maybe what she hasn't realized is, it's only with her I'm ever completely vulnerable, she's the only one in whose energy I feel completely safe to lay myself bare. Hence the reason I was reluctant at first to be on this platform cause why do I have to be here writing about my lifes experiences with a community of strangers. You won't believe how long it took me to write this introduction, I kept asking myself "why are you telling them that" and deleting paragraphs and starting again. But I guess all that is about to change, cos if I hope to be the kind of author that I want to be someday? I have to know vulnerability first hand. I'm greatful to have Hive to start that journey with. I hope to find my tribe(s) here. ❤️

Find me where nature at, the oceans and trees are my favorite parts of nature, give me good music and keep the movies, but for a few exceptions. Buy me books that elevates my awakening, keep the romance and all other unrealistic fictions, I'm a basketball girl, you can keep soccer 🥴 When I do own a pet dog, it'd be a Dobermann. Every dull asthetic color appeals to my soul. I'm a girl who thinks all for herself, keep the system far from me. I live for fashion. Yes! You heard right, fashion is my happy place. I enjoy photographing the ones I care about, it's a love language for me. With me around they never have to worry about getting good photos of themselves and their outfits.

I like to think of myself as a genuine and kind person and I guess that opens up for every other thing, I treat people exactly how I want to be treated, with love, kindness, patience, intentionality and honesty. An open minded person, whose greatest motto is "live and let live" I'm an empath, constantly putting the good of others before self, the good part for me is I'm happier for being able to make someone else happy. I'd say I'm definitely wise beyond my years. I'm friendly yet, big on boundaries. Most importantly I'm ever committed to self improvement.
