What Does The weekend Means To You?

ᴾⁱˣᵃᵇᵃʸ. ᶜᵒᵐ

Like everyone else the weekend means life to me, even if I am not going to use it for anything but the feeling of being in weekend alone is so relieving.

For someone like me weekend is a time for resting and planning of activities for the week ahead and for fun as well. Friday happens to be one of my favorites days as a teacher, you know why? It's half day. When I close from work I can have all the time for myself sleep rest and do whatever I want to do and not necessarily bother myself about anything because the next day which is Saturday is another Christmas.

Even though since I began blogging, I don't really have anyday I consider free or weekend because even on Saturdays and Sundays I am busy planning for the week ahead so that I can be able to meet up nevertheless, I still find time to rest and have fun. That I can't deny.

Weekends, are special, I think it's made part of the calendar to remind us that man needs rest, man needs refreshment, man needs to forget the heavy work around him and have some fun too. Hope you know that even in the bible, God too rested? In as much as we are in the quest of looking for what to put on the table, we should also create time for the body to enjoy what it has laboured for in peace.

For many people, the weekend means diverse things, some it's a time to rest, others it's time to prepare for work, some it's time to having fun and to some it's just a name probably only Sundays is the time they have free and others don't even have that free day at all especially business personels.

Like any other person, my weekend starts from Friday evening and ends on Sunday evening. You see that Sunday evening enn, hmm! that moment is usually very annoying, many people say Monday is the most annoying day of their lives but for me, it's Sunday evening. Once the sun starts setting my heart begins to beat fast, I start thinking about how the following day which is Monday will be, It makes me very restless and worried.

There are many things that makes my weekend fun, though I spent most of time working but as soon as am done with whatever in amdoing, I use the remaining time I have to go out not to eateries or bars but into the woods to appreciate the beauty of nature. I sometimes trek long distance into different communities and explore. For days that I don't feel like walking long distances, I visit my friends or allow them come over so we can talk and spend quality time together.

ᴾⁱˣᵃᵇᵃʸ. ᶜᵒᵐ

Now, it's not everytime that one wants to either go out or visit friends, truth be told that thing occurs occasionally in my life. What often makes my weekend superb is movies, yay!! I spend most of my free time during the weekends watching new and interesting movies. I don't often download them except if it becomes necessary. I have people that supply enough for me. During the week, I go around hunting and by weekends I feast. I have about twenty new movies for this weekend and as I am typing now, I can't tell how eager I am to just finish and start doing the needful.

We all know that no matter how sweet a thing is, there is always that one thing that can ruin it. For me, One thing that can ruin my entire weekend if it's absent it's light. Going through a weekend without electricity is like spending days in hell. I can't imagine how bored I am going to be. As soon as my phone goes low on charge, I am finished. I am already seeing myself struggling on the bed begging sleep to come but not having it.

Electricity is on of the things I value so much, not only during weekends but throughout the week, it's absence will affect my work online, cut me away from social media, and most importantly prevent me from watching movies.. I don't even want to imagine it hehe. But unfortunately, it's going to happen one day.

Happy weekend from this side ❤️

Thanks For Reading

Nice write-up bro, the weekend is an amazing day of the week to have enough rest, have enough fun, and so on, but the funny thing is that most of us now use the weekend to do other side hustles for bonuses, involved exercises, etc.

LoL! If you have a side hustle, you better use the weekend to catch some funds. The money is what makes the weekends fun

I used to be a preschool teacher and I know the feeling. Sunday night, printing out visuals and the lesson plans for the week are getting checked Monday morning, I dread it. Until now, I'm grateful still that my Sunday evening is not as stressful as it used to be. 🤭

Thanks for the nice read. Here in South Africa, we have what is known as "loadshedding" - i.e. rolling blackouts. That certainly has affected our lives significantly. #frequent

Life as a teacher can be very stressful and the weekend is definitely for rest. I was once in the field and know how stressful it can be.

Resting on weekends keeps you refreshed and even though you still have to engage on Hive, it will be at your convenience. I love your weekend routine and the absence of electricity can cause a big upset for the weekend.

Heheh.. you really understood how it is. I really can't afford to joke with my weekend, it's like gold to me.. the biggest advantage of blogging is the liberty to work at ones convenience.. you can come and join my weekends o, I have space reserved for you..

Thanks for coming around

I don't have any day I consider free either, except if I freed the day beforehand, though Friday (which in Libya is the equivalent to Sunday to most of the world) is the day I consider my weekend, because of the Friday Prayer.

Would love it if I had people who supply me with interesting movies too, but I guess I'll just watch Youtube, it's closer. !LOL

I've been a teacher and I know that feeling of thank God it's Friday 😂.
In as much as I love impacting knowledge on the younger generation, that doesn't conceal the fact that, there is stress associated with it. Presently, I'm no more a teacher but my main weekends' activity is Work. There is always work to do, left and right.

Go ahead and watch your movies, jare.

I know that Sunday night's feeling, the way it rumbles with the mind is out this world especially when your Mondays are always heavy.

Sometimes I feel pity for Monday because of how people talk about it. It's so unfortunate😅

I love movies too and I thought you were going to list some of the latest, hahaha. You don't hate power outage as much as I do. Let alone when buying fuel is something to pay for through the nose. Absence of light ruins weekends. What I love mostly about weekends though is absence of office work. I play with my kids, do chores, laugh and really catch fun on Snapchat too. But if it is a party weekend, the idea of party jollof rice makes me happy. Hahahaha.

I popped in from dreemport. Cheers
