One thing that is constant in life is change, as people come and go, time changes. There always a specific kind of development that is leading every era. Technology is doing her very best to ensure that life becomes more easy and pleasant daily and it happens to be the number one development making every era unique.
If we are to compare these days with a decade back we will see a clear change in technology that has occurred within this short period of time. A lot of new inventions came into place and for the old ones improvement were made to ensure it serves the current demands of man.
Mobile phones are part of the common technology that gets upgraded almost everyday. I remember some years ago it was button phones that were trending everywhere, after a while, androids started coming in, those days we call them soft touch or screen touch , they used to have buttons and then boom the real androids came in without buttons.
Subsequently we have different upgraded phones, iphones, Samsungs and the rest, because of how efficient they are, we refer them to as smart phones. Phones became the deal of the day. The world now revolves around our smart phones. There is almost nothing one can't do with a smart phone except you lack the knowledge.
The mysterious thing about it is that one can't even exhaust all the potential these devices are carrying. Today smart phones are offices to many persons, something that was previously used to just make calls, send messages and maybe play games. There are many secrets with smarts phones and am not sure we can discover them all before we exit this realm.
The Explanation
With the way evolution is taking place, It is normal to find individuals who are still left behind. Not all of our parents are familiar with some of these developments. Some of them need to be taught or guided to use some of these devices. I remember those days I had to teach my grand father how to make calls and recharge his phone.
Describing smart phone to someone from the 60's won't be easy, especially if the person is not that exposed, you know some of our parents only know farms and their homes alone. So If the person I am explaining it to is a bit exposed, all I will have to do is tell him or her. That it is an handset that has been brought to make things very easy.
The white discovered that there are many things the other handset can not do so they decided to give man something that can help him do almost everything he wants to do with his phone. With this kind of phone, one can sit in his room and talk with someone that is even abroad and be seeing their faces.
This phone doesn't need external button, all has been properly packaged within. The only thing one needs to do is give it a command by touching the screen with our fingers.The phone is like computer, there is nothing it can't do that computer does.
They also contain a biometric for security purposes, once one include his/her her finger print, the same way, we used to insert our fingers on ink to sign on papers so our finger prints can be captured. It will unlock the phone.
This is a special security against intruders, since no two human have same finger prints
The phone is a small computer, instead carrying our desk top or laptop anywhere we go, this phone has replaced all that. We can use it to do what the computer can do. So if you know a computer very well, this phone is almost like it and even more.
For someone who is not exposed it is going to be more difficult, I will have to start by making instance with agricultural improved breeds, I will tell them that the same way we had crops that are improved breeds , that can yield within short period of time, resist wind, and withstand harsh condition , that is how this phone is.
It is the improved or modernized version of the old phones. telephones phones like the local breed are slow, and can't do a lot of things but you see this smart phone, it can do anything. Except you don't know how to do it else, any command you give it, it will obey.
There are a lot of things you can do with it, you can even just talk and it will give you what you want without you typing. So anyone can use it. It is the new generation phone.
That explanation to someone that isn't very exposed is the most difficult, it's a smart idea to use something they are familiar with (like farming) to break it down for them. Overall you did a good job, seeing as you considered how exposed the person is to technology before you decide on how to explain it to them

I agree with you on this, it's very difficult to explain to someone that hasn't handle a button phone so one have to use something they are familiar with. But to some that are a bit exposed, the explanations would really help them alot.
Yeah it all depends on the level of ones exposure. The more exposed the person is, the easier the explanation and the less exposed one is, the difficult the explanation...
