The Evolution Of Music In Nigeria

Today I was discussing with my sister on the farm how the change in our time is extreme compared to that of our parents. In truth, even a teenager knows that things have evolved so much. Change is a constant thing in life and we must pass through it into to become whatever we are destined to be.

There are two kinds of change Basically, every time change occurs whether in the lives of people or in society, it either transforms things for good or makes them worse. Well, we all desire the positive one and despise the negative one, however, I believe that even bad experiences are beneficial to us because they teach us lessons that only life can teach. hehe.

Change is something that occurs in almost everything that is living, once a thing stops changing in quality, content, height, shape size, etc., it is assumed that the thing is dead and of no relevance.
Music is something I don't really give my time to but once in a blue moon, I listen to them. The pattern of music is something that changes from time to time and seriously I would love to say that the music industry in Nigeria is really doing well.

Nigerian songs are amazing if we tell ourselves the truth, and see how our musicians are making things happen in different countries.

Recently, I saw on Facebook how Asake is taking his music career into places with the help of his boss Olamide and I was like wow. This life is nothing, a few years back, Asake was not known anywhere but today he is everywhere. I really love that. I have heard a few of his songs and seriously that boy is doing great, like I said earlier on, music is not really my thing but when I hear a good one I know.

What I Think About the Kind Of Songs That Are Made Today

It depends on the kind of songs one listens to, I often listen to gospel songs and my opinion on the kind of songs they make is; that they are doing very well. The kind of dimension gospel songs have taken recently is so amazing, especially the creativity in Sounds (instrumentals)

One person who always gets me in awe with his songs is Nathaniel Bassey, Gosh! That man is a music guru. Apart from the fact that his songs are spiritual, there is excellence also attached to them. Recently one of his songs that has been on replay on my phone is Adonai. I love that song, from the instrumentals down to the lyrics is mind-blowing.

Those days, some gospel songs are just so boring, anyone just gets up and sings anything not considering, whether it is pleasant or not because they feel since they mentioned God inside, people should patronize them today things have changed, and it has taken another dimension. One can listen to a gospel song and still feel the vibe as he/she is catching fire, fire from the inside.

We all have our taste when it comes to music, what sounds pleasant to someone might not really be pleasant to another person. Back then one thing that chases me away from many songs are the instrumentals. Believe me, there are songs that might not really be nice but if the instrumental is good, it will fix everything. This is why I love Asake, he is just so creative in terms of sounds.

Though I have said a lot about our music, Nevertheless, most of the secular songs sung these days are scary, Though they are very pleasant to the ear but unlike old times our recent songs mostly preach evil things, like internet fraud, reckless spending, women and get money quick. This is the part I dislike about our songs, I wish the messages are as good as the sounds but Please don't get me wrong some Nigerian Musicians sing meaningful songs and we appreciate them for that

This is how much I can say about the change in music in my country, I wish I could say more but unfortunately, I am not so much into music.

Me encanta.

There are a lot of secular songs prevalent these days that I just wonder if said musicians were under the influence of something or probably hypnosis before they sang it. Nevertheless, there are still a few good ones of which Asake is among them.
As for gospel music, Nathaniel Bassey and Dunsin Onyekan have my heart completely with their music.
Thank you for participating @emreal.🌺

Most of them are under the influence of drugs it's not something hidden anymore, It's so pathetic honestly. Well, Thank God gospel songs didn't deviate, atleast if you are a fan, you are at advantage.

Thanks so much for stopping by🥰

Music everywhere is evolving. I have never listened to gospel music or Nigerian music, in fact, I always listen to instrumental music that soothes the senses, especially when I am writing.

I love musics but I prefer oldies than most trending musics now due to what they portray.

Most of the musics we have decades ago inspire people to work hard mostly with positive words as opposed to some of the ones trending now that encourages all sort of negative behaviors.

I hope more of good music are being released to help bring back the morals we seem to have lost.

Thanks for sharing.

Hmm.. the painful thing is, once things change to the opposite, it takes longer time to correct them. Seriously old musics are cool. I wish that same moral that has been before could be restored.

LoL.. Omo, old music are great, their messages were just plain but today, we can't tell what they are really preaching. Nevertheless, there are still good musicians and trust me they are double of what we used to have then

The world changes and things turn around!
You can't tell what will happen tomorrow because no one can see how it is going to be. Meanwhile, it's important for consistency to take place in your life always as that could make a huge difference in your life.

Who knew Asakw back then?
Who knew he is going to be a star?
Who knows that his music will speak for him?

Life is funny!

Sure, though we don't know what tomorrow holds, consistency can be a tool that can shape it well for us. This is why it is very important for us to take time and build ourselves against tomorrow. Asake's luck shone and he was just more than prepared for it, else it was have passed him..

Thanks for reading ma

Truly, change is constant in life, but no matter how we try things cannot go back to the way it was then.
