Mass Indoctrination Day 11 - Monday 3rd July, 2023

MCGI Cares Banner

Good day brethren, I want to appreciate God and the MCGI community for making it possible for us to hear God's word again. It's such a privilege like I will always say. It is not a right but the mercy of God. Below are what I learnt from the meeting today

Lessons

We can't be partakers of the things of God and at the same time be partakers of the things of the devil. We ought to choose one. Unfortunately in our days many people contaminate the table of God by trying to mix the thing of God and that of the evil one together. (1 Corinthians10:21, Isaiah 28: 8, 10-11 proverbs 26:11)

There are many things that we should do as believers that we don't necessarily need anyone to preach unto us first. We know the right thing to do as the children of God because we are being guided by the Holy Ghost. The spirit will lead us to do what is good and right. It is very wrong for us to wait until we are compelled before we do certain things for God.

There is a misconception about vowing unto God, a vow is something we agree to do willfully and not something we do because we are commanded by someone which will result to punishment if broken. Vows are not to be broken but vows are taken intentionally and willfully by anyone who wished to take them and not someone imposing it on them. (Numbers 30:2)

All believers are allowed to marry if they so wish, it is not prohibited but it is not evil if we vow not to marry. It is upto us like apostle Paul did, so that we can give ourselves to God. Vows are taken voluntarily, It is something we bind ourselves to do without God forcing us into it. Meaning vows are not like laws. The issue of vows transcends celibacy alone, there are many things we can vow to abstain from, like things that can distract us from fufiling our duties to God. (1 Corinthians 8:5)

If we vow and we break it, we are irresponsible and we take God for granted. A true believer should be a man or woman of his/her word. If we know we can't keep a thing, it is better we don't vow at all than to vow and break it. (Acts 18:18, Ecclesiastes 5:4-5)

Giving in the church is not something we should be coerced to do. It is something believers should do willfully and cheerfully. Everyone should give according to what they want to, not what they are bidded to give by another. God loves those who gives cheerfully without complains but another man must not force us to do so. What we want to give is what we should give. What we have is what we should give and if we don't have God understands (2 Corinthians 9:7, 2 Corinthians 8:3)

We should not join the church or preach the word of God for materials things. our services to God must be willful and out of a pure conscience. Preaching God must be out primary objective and not money or mundane things. This is why believers should also learn how to start doing something to earn money so that they won't put their eyes into the contributions made in the church.

Contribution are collected to preach the word of God and to maintain the church. There are many things that requires maintenance and there are many expenses in dispensing the word of God. Those are the places where the money should go into and not our pockets.

Even though, giving is willful and based on what we want to give but we should not think we can mock or deceive God. We should not lie or try to act smart. If we want to give we should give, if we don't want to give it's better we don't give. We should not try or put God into test. (Acts 5:1-10)

Giving thanks is something a believers must learn to do as they live. It is something that pleases God. It is also a deliberate and willful practice that believers should cultivate. We don't need anyone to force us or tell us to do that. We can give thanks to God based on what we want or can afford.

Singing and proclaiming God's goodness, doing good and sharing what we have with others is also a kind of sacrifice that we must not neglect. Praising God, good works and contributions are three kinds of sacrifices that believers should practice. It is God's commandment for us to be thankful to Him all the time (Hebrews 13:15 , Psalms 50:23, collosians 3:15)

When we are giving unto God, we should not make a public show of it. It should be something between us and God. We don't need to boast for our giving, It is only hypocrites who do that. One of the dangers of boasting or making show of what we give is that if our motives are evil, the praise we will receive from men is the reward so God will not reward us again. (Mathew 6:2-4)

yes you are hitting the point we are all Christian what is needed for us to do we should do it without groadges and what we know we can not do we should not participate in it because the way one present his self that is how he will be address if you are a type that make pledges and does not fulfil people will term that person as a liar but when you make promises and fulfil people will respect you the more may God give us the heart to bear every thing we see

It's true brother, we should not pledge what we can't give. God is not forcing anyone to do anything for him and he is not in a haste we should always avoid to do things to please men.. whatever we are to do, let us first of all check our capacity

there is one man in my family in the church he attend in Jos if they talking about church project he will come and donate a particular project but at the end he will not do it there was a day he pledge to do the project of plastering the church but he did not complete his promise even one bag of cement he did not buy for them and that makes people don't like him in the church although he stays in Abuja but his birth city is Jos so if he come home after the pledge he don't go to church again because people will look down on him
