Having Many Siblings Is A Blessing

Life is funny, those that have a thing don't see the worth and those who don't, desire that same thing very badly. It almost look like life is unfair but if everyone has what they desire life won't be fun and we would not be motivated to move out of our comfort zone. Without challenges we will all be relaxed and that will pose a serious threat to us and to the development and growth of the society at large.

Talking about siblings, I came from a polygamous family, I have a lot of siblings like about 13, though from different mothers. It is fun being around them, You know that feeling of waking up to see everywhere choke with people, hearing noise here and there and seeing drama at every corner of the house? Well that's the case.

There are many advantages to having many siblings, it's not all bad as some may think. I have enjoyed assistance a lot when it comes to chores, with our large number the chores at home is shared or rationed amongst us. One person doesn't have to kill himself with work, everybody has something to do.

Here is another one, you will have someone to talk to and share your pains at home with. You won't need to go outside and share your problems with outsiders who will in turn stab you. your have siblings are there to share in your burden. They become your friends and everything.

I have learnt a lot on how to love people and to share from the kind of home I came from. honestly except you are mean else, we learnt how to share clothes, food and pains together. In my home you don't eat alone those days, we eat together base on our ages and it was a beautiful thing.

With something like that, it became part of us and we could share whatever we have no matter how little with those who don't have. We became opened and willing to help our friends from other families. I appreciate that trait I developed from home training honestly.

Have I Ever Wished I Have Less Siblings?

Honestly, my answer is yes. I know there are a lot of privileges attached to have having more siblings but the truth is it's not easy seeing your younger ones not having a good kind of life that they deserve due to insufficient resources.

If we were few like two or three, atleast our parents would be able to cater for us properly and ourselves we can do something as well but with a large number, how much will you have that will be enought to serve or provide for everyone? Well, don't get me wrong I appreciate having my sibling, it just pains so much seeing them go through difficult times.

How Do I Overcome The Burden?

It's just simple, there is nothing that anyone can do, what has happened has happened. I just keep pushing and encouraging myself. I know and I believe God that life will be better someday both for me and my siblings. I can't reduce the number, the deeds has been done, more over I love them so much, especially my kid sisters, ah! They are just so adorable.

Final words
Parents I want to appeal that you take caution in producing children. I know in other countries this is already being implemented but in Africa it's still going on. It is good to have many children but ensure you have what it takes first before you go ahead executing it, so that you can save your kids from going through difficult times.

It's not just about giving them food, how about education, health clothing and the rest, it's not nice at all. Give birth to what you can cater for and train them first if later you feel you need more after you have given the ones you have brought into the world what they have, then you can give birth later but now train the ones you have first.

Don't forget that life is not even in our hands, what if you don't live long to even cater for your kids? Won't you leave your partner with a very big responsibility that could break him/her down?
