Zoom Thanksgiving service 04-09-2021

Summary of what I learnt:

We should learn to fulfill the law of Christ, not just hearers of the word.

We should keep the commandment of God in our hearts.

We should count the days that we spend on earth living in the fear of God because those days are the most important days of our life.

The word of God is Christ, therefore we should inhabit Christ in our hearts.

Psalm 90:11-12
KJV:Who knoweth the power of thine anger? even according to thy fear, so is thy wrath.
12KJV:So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.

When we learn to number our days we will reach your heart onto the wisdom of Christ.

The house of God is the Church of The living God.

1 Timothy 3:15
KJV:But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

We should dwell in the house of God with the fear of God in our hearts.

Psalm 27:4
KJV:One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.

We are pilgrims here on earth, our citizenship is in heaven.

Hebrews 11:13
KJV:These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

The fear of God is to obey his laws and keep his commandments, when we stay in the house of God we should remain in the fear of God which is following His commandments.

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
KJV:Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
14KJV:For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

We have an obligation given unto us that we should reject anybody that does not obey the commandment of God after the first and the second admonition.

1 Corinthians 15:3
KJV:For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;

The wisdom which we will attain is an heavenly wisdom which is the embodiment of Christ. We should attain Christ in our hearts.

James 3:17
KJV:But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

Without Christ in your heart and without the fear of God in you your life is meaningless and without significance.

Ecclesiastes 6:12
KJV:For who knoweth what is good for man in this life, all the days of his vain life which he spendeth as a shadow? for who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun?

The reason we should acquire is the heavenly wisdom written in James chapter 3.

Joy life and peace will be added to those that keep the commandment of God.

Proverbs 3:1-4
KJV:My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments:
2KJV:For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
3KJV:Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart:
4KJV:So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.

The spouse of the church is our Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 11:2
KJV:For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

The church is married to Christ therefore we need to submit ourselves unto Him.

Ephesians 5:28-33
KJV:So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
29KJV:For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
30KJV:For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
31KJV:For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
32KJV:This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.
33KJV:Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

He who gets a spouse obtains favor from the Lord, therefore the church which is the spouse of Christ is highly favored.
Proverbs 18:22.
KJV:Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord.

We are married to Christ as members of the Church.
Colossians 1:18
KJV:And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

God gave the church a huge favour.
John 3:16
KJV:For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

If you are in the church you are not alone, because you have a husband which is Christ and other members of the body of Christ.

Psalm 68:6
6KJV:God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

You have helpers also in the church which is the other members of the body of Christ.

Galatians 6:2
KJV:Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

Two are better than one, it's not good to be alone.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
KJV:Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.
10KJV:For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up

We are commanded to love the brotherhood.
1 Peter 2:17.
KJV:Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.

God is concerned about the widows and the fatherless.

Psalm 68:5-6
KJV:A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.
6KJV:God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.

The essence of the brotherhood is to feel the care of one another and love one another.

The brotherhood is part of the favour of God, therefore, we shouldn't ignore the brotherhood.

The widows and fatherless should feel the care of the brotherhood.
James 1:27
KJV:Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Acts 2:44-47
KJV:And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
45KJV:And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.
46KJV:And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
47KJV:Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.

Love for the brotherhood is love for God.

John 13:35
KJV:By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
