Walking Along the Art Trail: CCC's Street Art Contest - #220.

While I was on holiday in Bournemouth, UK we had a walk around the local art trail in the Boscombe area. As I love dogs, this artwork of a daschund painted on two shipping containers was my favourite. The painting was done by the artist, technicolourmoon for the Bournemouth Emerging Arts Fringe (BEAF).

This is my entry to the CCC's Street Art Contest - #220.

We then walked down to see the graffiti art in the underpass. The football team in Bournemouth are nicknamed the cherries. MBN Arts, along with the students at Iford Academy and artist Owain Nicholls, (also known as Humble Cherub), decided to do a football theme along the wall.

Bournemouth is a seaside town so it is represented by seagulls, crabs, sandcastles etc in the artwork.

I was surprised it hadn't been drawn over by vandals. Someone told me
that the wall had been sprayed with some kind of solution that made it easy for any drawings or writings to be wiped off, or it would just drip off. It was a clever way to protect the artwork from being defaced by vandals.

With so many football fans passing through the underpass coming and going to the match, it made perfect sense to have artwork displayed there.

Very interesting and colourful art work. Never been to Bournemouth! Only to Brighton a few times. Love the seaside atmosphere.

Brighton is nice but Bournemouth has much better beaches.

Yup. Brighton has all the pebbles and some silly nudists! My old friend had a pair of binoculars for surveying the beach from her apartment!

Very cool works especially the "sausage dog", in French it's chien saucisse but I'm not sure of the translation 😀 Good idea to protect the wall. Thanks for sharing these pics on The StreetArt Community.

Enjoy your day

I was going to put sausage dog, but I wasn't sure whether they're known as that overseas. 😅
