In Search of the Highland Cattle and More Creepy Arsed Trees!
We started our walk at Grindleford Train Station in Derbyshire, entering the woodland into Padley Gorge.
The footpath was rocky in parts not forgetting the exposed tree roots. Thankfully, it wasn’t too slippy today but that doesn't usually stop me from coming a cropper.
We followed the babbling Burbage Brook along the bottom, before ascending up into the woods.
Further in, we came across some more creepy arsed trees in this enchanting looking wood.
After a short, circular walk we made our way to Curbar Edge to see if we could find the Highland Cattle that are often seen in this area.
Parking in the National Trust car park, we crossed the road and enjoyed the great views including the low cloud, from the top.
Following the footpath, it wasn’t long before we met the cattle. We'd visited a few areas before but had no sightings of them. Luckily, we finally came across them today.
From speaking to a photographer who was also visiting the area, the cattle all have names. Some were quite placid but some were more shy. We just kept our distance especially this little one having a feed!
One was using a boulder to have a good, old scratch.
It started to get quite chilly, so we made our way back to the car, happy that we finally found the herd.
This one looks really wild!! those animals are masive!
It must be the mist. They were lovely. 🙂

Thank you @bhattg and @indiaunited.
You got really close for that last one! Lovely use of mist in the photos too, helps provide separation and layers in the images which is awesome!
Thank you. They are quite placid though. We weren't being brave. 😁
The trees, the colours !!! and this whole atmosphere, love it:)
