Forest Fungi on a Misty Morning
This morning, I decided to take a walk around my favourite forest, especially when it was so misty. As I drove to the forest, the mist became thicker, almost like a pea soup. The dampness in the air made everything feel fresh. I was hoping to find some fungi, especially the fly agarics. These bright red mushrooms with white spots have always been my favourites.
After a bit of searching, I did find some but they looked a bit battered. I'm sure more will come through in the next few weeks. It's just tricky going at the right time because as soon as they appear, they only look their best for a brief period.
These little mushrooms had taken over this tree stump, turning it into a forest of miniature fungi.
I'm not sure if these are black bulgars, or not. Whatever they are, they didn’t look very appetising.
At the end of my walk, I found a felled tree that was literally covered in fungi.

You have a beautiful spot to go looking for mushrooms @ellenripley, I'm not surprised that fly agaric is your favorite, since they are really beautiful
What amazing and beautiful mushrooms you have found
Thank you @miprimerconcurso. 💖
The slugs really loved the red mushroom lol. They can keep it as it is the sickener. The black ones are a type of exidia mushroom (they are edible but only good in soups with lots of spice :-)
Thank you. I think I will leave them there! 🙂
Very pretty colours! So many kinds of fungi. I would try to cook some of them!
I'm not very confident of choosing which are edible.
