Christmas Lights at Castleton, Derbyshire

Castleton is one of my favourite places at Christmas as they know how to celebrate the holiday period. Most of the shops and businesses in the village will have a Christmas tree outside their premises. Everyone joins in and it becomes a bit like Santa's Grotto.

It was fairly quiet for a weekend, so Santa was enjoying a crafty pint before it got too busy.

If you don't want your husband around while you shop, you can drop him off at the 'husband creche', while you max out the credit card. 😁

The best night is when they turn the lights on. There's a lot more visitors as the shops stay open late, creating a lot of atmosphere.

There is nothing more festive than Christmas wreaths on people's doors. I think they look really pretty.

There are several gift shops, pubs, coffee shops and a visitor centre all year round, but it's at Christmas it looks especially lovely. We just need a bit of snow now.

Lovely spot! The santa idly sitting under the tree is very cute. The husband creche is such a genius idea. How many credit cards did you max out? 😀

No husband so I can please myself! 😁

I hope you are keeping well. I know you are definitely keeping busy!

Yes, keeping busy definitely helps. And movement can always be translated into progress.

Cute little village lane! Wonderful atmosphere which seems to stay unchanged; time has frozen. Santa might get drunk and roll into the steam!🙀😂
