CCC's Street Art Contest - Derelict Stone Quarry Factory

Recently, I decided to visit my usual hangout spot, which is an old stone quarry factory that has been derelict for years.

Despite the fact that the place is often trashed by local troublemakers, there is always something interesting to see as talented graffiti artists also come here. Every few months, the art work will change.

As I wandered through the derelict building, I spotted one of my favourite subjects, skulls! It was quite fitting with all the decay and destruction about.

However, what really took me by surprise was the presence of a drone. As I entered one of the larger hangers, to the left, I saw a man sitting with goggles on and a controller in his hands with music blaring out. The drone buzzed around the space, weaving in and out of the open windows with precision. It was like my own private airshow but the man never said a word to me. He looked a bit intimidating.

In another hanger, the drone operator had walked over to a connecting open door. He waved to me and we struck up a conversation about the artwork. He wasn’t intimidating at all but very friendly.

I like the simplest artwork as well.

Unfortunately, I don’t know all of the graffiti artists. However, I did go away thinking you can meet new people in the most unexpected of places!

When I spotted the drone man, I thought I'd walked into a sci fi movie. He came in peace, though.✌️ 😁

Very cool abandoned place with all these beautiful works. Did the drone pilot show you the images he filmed? It's always impressive (for me 😀). Thanks for sharing these pics on The StreetArt Community.

Have a great Week
