A Wednesday Walk around Wollaton Hall Park

For my #wednesdaywalk initiated by @tattoodjay, we had a walk around the grounds of Wollaton Hall, which is an Elizabethan mansion built in the 1580s. Today, Wollaton Hall is home to the Nottingham Natural History Museum, as well as the Nottingham Industrial Museum. Source

As we walked around the park, we could see signs of the forthcoming autumn. The leaves on the trees were starting to change colour, changing from greens to oranges and yellows.

It is a little early for Halloween but it looks as though the bats have already arrived!

It was nice and peaceful walking around the lake, although the weather was a little chilly and overcast.

On the other side of the lake, there was a false bridge that was once a boathouse designed to make it more visually pleasing.

There was a collection of wood carvings made by a local chainsaw artist. The thought of having a chainsaw in my hand gave me the shudders, but the carvings were very good.

The park itself was already a beautiful place, but spotting the presence of the free roaming deer at the end of our walk was an added bonus.
