A Walk on the Cool Side
This morning was quite chilly, so I decided to go for a walk around the village to warm myself up. As I made my way through the country lanes, I tackled the steepest part of the walk and then entered the wood, passing a few dog walkers along the way.
At the top of the wood, I walked down the stone steps and through a stile. The steps can be quite slippy but they weren't too bad this morning.
I then crossed over a wooden bridge which lies over the stream.
I can remember tasting a rose hip when I was a child. Little did I know, rose hips have quite a bitter taste. I quickly learned that rose hips are probably best when they are used in tea or jam instead.
From afar, the next stile looked too high to climb over, but the top wooden slat could be pulled up for easier access.
Passing through yet another stile (we do like our stiles), I finally made my way back onto the road. The changing colours of the leaves and the cool air indicated that autumn was definitely on the horizon.
This is my #sublimesunday inspired by @c0ff33a and #beautifulsunday initiated by @ace108.
There seems to be rather a lot of rosehips and berries in general this year. Maybe the wet weather has been a contributing factor to this?
I think every year there's an abundance of something or another. I was hoping this year we'd have an abundance of money! 😀
This year has turned out to be rubbish for that!
Definitely!
Some the path really looks like could be trick when slippery.
Never had rose hip tea before.
Me neither. Coffee rules in my house. 🙂
