A Mooch Around Monyash, Derbyshire, UK
Today, we visited the
lovely village of Monyash in Derbyshire, UK on a day where the weather was on our side. The village, is near the pretty Lathkill Dale, and gives off an olde worlde charm with its pretty stone cottages and quaint lanes.
As we walked through the village, there was a very picturesque green in the heart of the village. The village has a history of lead mining and agriculture. One of the ponds used to supply water to the villagers.
There was an old telephone box, which has become quite iconic and typically British. It was surrounded by a dry stone wall with a stone gateway.
The Church of St Leonard, looked quite magestic with its spire atop a buttressed tower. It really stood out.
There's also lots of walking routes surrounding the village.
You can either start your walk or finish it at the café or pub in the village. I love the name of Icky Picky Lane!
Overall, it was an interesting visit to the picturesque village of Monyash, as it had lots of history. Although, you probably have to be quite well off to live here!
