Bargain Of The Day 😁……..My Actifit Report Card: May 25 2024

This little birdie is announcing the bargain of the day! No-not really, but I stood and conversed with him for a good five minutes before he moved on. He was hanging out at the Walmart garden center.

After sleeping in until almost 9:00 AM, after I did some computer maintenance, @silvertop said he needed to go to Home Depot. I figured if in Bellingham, why not go to other stores as it’s another rainy day ☔️ in the Northwest.

First stop was the library to drop off a book that was due. Then we headed to Home Depot. They didn’t have the bracket to hang the weed eater, but they did have some brackets for some shelves that @silvertop wanted to put up in the newly constructed garden shed. We discovered the hardware he needed was on clearance and at quite the substantial discount! No-that’s not the bargain of the day. 😁 We took a look see through their garden center.

So, after leaving there, we went to Harbor Freight to see if they had the bracket he needed for the weed eater-they did at a whopping $1.74! No-that’s not the bargain of the day either although a nice low price! 😁

We headed to Lowe’s next as we needed to go to Cash-N-Carry and it was on the way. THAT is where the bargain of the day was found! More on that in a minute.

Successful stop at C-N-C for coffee syrups and cup supplies and then on to Walmart, culminating with the final stop at the Lynden Starbucks. ☕️

So, back to Lowe’s. I cannot resist a garden center this time of year! So, we went to check it out, but entered through the back entrance through the store. It put us directly in the clearance section and there were a lot of plants in it! Not half dead plants either! I spied this huge 24” in diameter flowering plant. It sort of resembled miniature petunias. @silvertop held it as I was looking for a price. None was on it. So, I asked an employee about it. He said he’d be right back. When he returned, he attached a sticker to it. He told us there weren’t any more and it would ring up clearance price at the register. I asked how much that was because planters of this size around here can be $40-50 dollars and I didn’t want to pay much for it. I was thinking I’d offer $12 for it. He told me around $9. I said-sold! This was the planter. It’s huge!

That was definitely the bargain of the day for sure! 😎👍 Here’s a couple up close pics of flowers blooming on it.
