My Actifit Report Card: March 28 2024

Since my day today was spent at work, my pictures this post are a reflection of previous hikes. 😎

Thursdays start out with just me and Donna and then the doc comes in the afternoon to do exams, which accelerates the day.

I delegated some frame pricing for her to do on new stock and then explained how I add the to the frame boards. After the first batch, I turned her loose with 2 more orders to process. It’s nice having someone do something that’s time consuming and take it off of my plate!

Then the doc showed up and things were busy for a while. I have a patient in New York whom I’ve been kind of a personal shopper for her, for glasses. She’s decided on two but now she needs to do the tribal application for the benefits to pay for most of it.

I have another odd situation with a patient and a Maui Jim sunglass frame. His old, old discontinued frame (discontinued since 2015) is not useable for new lenses. Maui Jim won’t put lenses in an old frame if they don’t have the parts to replace something should it break. They don’t have parts for something that old, so it’s a no go. He wasn’t happy with their answer, so he called them and complained enough and received a 50% off of a pair if he orders from them directly. No worries-right? Well he wants a certain color. I have the frame but in the other color. Long and short of it; rather than buy his frame himself, he wants me to order it in to see if he likes the color. The problem with that is that it’s $16 to get it shipped. Then if he doesn’t like it, I’m going to have to send it back. There’s another $10 for the way I ship things. But-if he likes it, I’d still have to ship it back for them to do his order in. So we’re still at $26 for shipping. When ordering an RX order, usually, the lab supplies the frame. It cuts down the delivery time. So doing things this way would add 7-10 business days onto it. Not logical. So I told him to order it with his coupon making sure he can return it. Then if he likes it, I can order the job and allow the frame to be supplied by the lab. Anyway, long and short of this one and the other, I’ve got patients with lots of needs and time consuming issues.

My time constraints are increasing, lol! I think I need another assistant!

I’m glad tomorrow is Friday!!😅

Plus it’s Good Friday as well, so that means church for us in the evening.
