Wonderful Pewter Artwork
Good day dear Hive Community, first of all I hope that you are all well and that you had one or the other positive experiences today! In this post, I would like to present you a wonderful work of art and also go into mythology.
In my pictures you can see a wonderful candle holder which has been made of pewter and I think the artist has done a really great job and created a delightful work that creates a classic and nostalgic flair. I particularly like works like these and if you take a closer look at the work you can see the precision with which the artist has been worked and the great ornaments that give the object an additional elegance. You can see how the different ornaments create beautiful transitions and great is of course also the shiny property of tin. If you are generally interested in tin, you will find a contribution from me here in which I have already wrote more about the history.
In Roman mythology, pewter is also associated with the Roman god Jupiter and an interesting deity from Slavic mythology, which is also associated with blacksmithing, is the god Svarog, which is also often equated with the well-known forge god from Greek mythology Hephaestus and Svarog is also considered the creator of the earth as well as the sun and fire. He was also one of the most important gods among the Slavic tribes and has played a huge role and in general I like to go into different cultures in connection with forging and who knows even more about the topic, I would be happy to let me know as a comment! I also find Goibniu interesting, who was revered by the ancient Celts as a blacksmith god and he is also known together with his brothers for having created the most important crafts.
According to legends, Goibniu is also known for being the protector of a drink that has the ability to make others immortal and he was generally known for producing the weapons in many battles. In general, different blacksmith gods were also often depicted in various alchemical iconographies or other works of art. The well-known poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe also devoted himself to blacksmithing and mentions Hephaestus in one of his works. Various forging deities have also been symbolized in many old wall paintings, mosaics and many sculptors or other artists have also devoted themselves to this topic. I have also already written a lot about the topic in the past and those who should be interested in it will find more articles here or here.
Thanks a lot for stopping by and watching! I captured these pictures with my Camera Sony Alpha 6000 plus 55-210 mm lens!
