Visiting the Botanical Garden Munich-Nymphenburg

Hey dear community, at the beginning I would like to welcome you all to my new post and hope your week is full of positive events! Today I would like to present you a natural experience which I made in Munich and I am happy if you like my contribution.

Botanical gardens are always a very unique experience, especially if someone is in a big city like in Munich and I think it's a great help to escape the hectic climate of the city. Visits to the botanical garden have a positive effect on people's health and especially for people who live in urban areas it can be a perfect alternative to reduce stress and of course the whole atmosphere or air quality have an extremely positive effect on the human organism. These places are also indispensable for the protection of nature because many protected species are grown here and there is also a lot of food for the field of research as well as science and it's no wonder that botanical gardens have been enjoying great popularity for decades and have developed into an important cultural highlight. Also during my visit to Munich I used the time to visit the well-known botanical garden Nymphenburg which has developed into one of the most important in all of Europe and although I was here during the cold season, there were no major restrictions because most of the plants are housed in greenhouses and it is also highly recommended for people who want to experience natural moments during the gray season.

It was not the first place of this kind in Munich and already in the 19th century there was an smaller botanical garden near Stachus (Karlsplatz) and later this was extended and officially opened after a few years of construction in 1914 in Nymphenburg. In summer, the outdoor area is also heavily planted and by and large I would say that it can be worthwhile to visit it all year round and the visit can also be very well connected with other sights such as Nymphenburg Palace or the large park which are located right next door. The price for admission amounts to 5 to 7€, but this varies depending on the chosen option and the more expensive ticket also includes a special exhibition which takes place for certain periods of time and on the day of my visit there was just an extra exhibition about butterflies that flew so close to me and made the visit even more interesting.

It has been one of the largest botanical gardens I have visited so far and with thousands of different species from all kinds of world, pretty much every species can be found here and the employees have managed to imitate the appropriate climate and in some greenhouses, the humidity is extremely high while in others dry. Each greenhouse has its own theme and overall I would recommend planning at least two to three hours and it may also be advisable to take a day trip and then visit Nymphenburg Palace, Magdalenenklause or Marstallmuseum. The large variety as well as the different topics are probably one of the biggest highlights, but the special exhibition is also of great interest and whether for young or old people, everyone should probably get their money's worth here and those who should visit the city should definitely not miss the botanical garden and I would warmly recommend the visit.

We have something like this with greenhouses and each one his climate but it's for butterflies, not for plants... Interesting it's applied to plants
