Hey dear Hive community, first of all I would like to welcome you all to my contribution and hope you had a great day that brought some interesting experiences into your life! Today I would like to talk about a plant and its connections to a well-known dynasty and hope you can expand your knowledge.
Here you can see tulips in different colors and in the first picture you can see an orange-colored one which is closely connected to the house of Orange-Nassau, which has risen over time to one of the most powerful families in Europe and especially through its strong political leadership, this family has managed to become the leading royal house of the Netherlands. The origins can already be traced back to the Middle Ages and later the union of these two dynasties emerged from a branch of the house of Nassau through the marriage of Henry III (1483 - 1538) from the house of Nassau-Breda and Claudia of Chalon-Orange (1498 - 1521). Between the 15th and the 16th century, the dynasty rose more and more to a central position of power and played an important role in the rule and political leadership of Europe and in its possession were numerous lands as well as an important trading points and power was expanded more and more over. A special historical event was the uprising against Spanish rule under the leadership of Wilhelm I (1533 - 1584) who was also known as William the Silent, which ensured that the Netherlands became independent and he should go down in history as one of the most important founding figures of the family. For a long time, the Netherlands was a republic and in the 19th century, a monarchy was introduced under the leadership of the House Orange-Nassau and the house is closely linked to the fruit oranges and also the tulips already had a great importance at that time and decorated the royal gardens and especially the orange colored was closely associated with this European dynasty and as a huge friend of ceramics, the dynasty had numerous artistic vases and flower holders which were decorated with tulips. During the time of the golden age, there was a real tulip mania in the Netherlands, which ensured that the people could even pay with tulips and Holland was one of the most important sea powers during this time and the sea routes were also of great importance for the trade of tulips and if you want to learn more about tulips in the Netherlands, you will find a contribution from me here.
